The property was well equipped and comfortable. The views and location were nothing short of superb.The hill villages and towns were fascinating and although we spent three weeks in Abruzzo we feel we only scratched the surface. A good reason for a return visit. The local people were amazingly helpful.

Absolutely stunning scenery. Not the easiest place to get to but that's what makes this place so special, not another house in sight. Ideal place to get away from the world and relax in one of the most picturesque locations I've ever been.

Room with a View

The property was exactly what we needed. Early morning watercolor painting on the patio, winding country roads to take us to small towns in the area, a well equipped kitchen and fresh herbs from the garden for making dinner. The owner was quick to respond to any inquiries. Idyllic property for a taste of country living.

Fantastische Aussicht

Wir hatten das große Glück eine Woche unseres einmonatigen Aufenthalts in Italien in diesem schönen Haus verbringen zu können. Die Alleinlage und der Blick auf diese fantastischen Berge haben unsere Erwartungen mehr als erfüllt! Die Zufahrt zum Haus ist sicher nicht jedermanns Sache, aber für uns stellte sie ein eigenes Abenteuer da, das uns sicher nicht von einem weiteren Besuch abschrecken wird. Noch einmal vielen lieben Dank an Lawrence, der sich sehr zuvorkommend und kompetent im Namen der Familie um unsere Fragen gekümmert hat. Wir kommen gerne wieder!

Emplacement magnifique avec une vue superbe. Beaucoup de possibilités de visites de villes et villages. Sîtes de nature à découvrir absolument. Et surtout, loin de la frénésie touristique. Déconnexion assurée. Je mets 3 étoiles pour la propreté parce que la cuisine etait sale, j'ai passé une heure à récurer le four et certain plat. J'ai nettoyé des tiroirs etc... deux relax de jardin étaient abîmés. Je ne sais qui m'avait précédé. Au proprio de faire verifier.

Im Grossen und Ganzen ganz gut,nur: dass nirgendwo erwähnt wird,dass ca.1-1,5km bis zum Haus der Asphaltweg aufhört und mit normalem,sprich für Straßen ausgelegtem Auto die Sache jedes Mal zum Abenteuer mit ungewissemEnde ausartet war,ist und bleibt nicht OK.

Quiet retreat from the crowds

Had a lovely stay with my husband and two adult children, a perfect ending to our family trip to Italy! The house is cozy and comfortable with all the amenities you need. The views from the master bedroom and small patio are breathtaking- I loved waking up each morning to the sounds of a rooster crowing somewhere off across the valley, and seeing those mountains rising up in the distance. The property has a number of fruit trees and olive trees, as well as lots of fresh herbs and lavender, and other lovely flowers and is very well kept. Unfortunately the pomegranates weren't ripe yet during our stay, but I had the treat of eating fresh figs for the first time! I made use of them, and the herbs for cooking as well. Our GPS did not seem to recognize the address to the house, but typing in "Casa del Falco" brought is right to the home. It is quite remote, up some very winding and narrow roads, so be ready for this. The short bit of gravel road up to the house was a bit bumpy but our little rental car did just fine. If we ever return to Italy I hope this will be available, as I would definitely love to stay there again!

Meravigliosa Casa del Falco

Casa del Falco è una deliziosa villetta nella campagna abruzzese, tra olivi, fichi, melograni e una varietà infinita di piante e fiori. La strada per raggiungerla è un po' disagevole, ma la proprietà merita tutto. La casa è perfetta, provvista di tutto, ampia e luminosa. Abbiamo molto apprezzato, per esempio, le zanzariere a tutte le (numerose) finestre che hanno consentito di spegnere l'aria condizionata e godersi la naturale brezza della collina. I contatti con il proprietario sono stati molto positivi, anche se il sig. Peter vive in UK e non in Abruzzo. Abbiamo avuto un problema con il frigorifero ma abbiamo potuto risolverlo anche con la collaborazione della gente del posto. Il nostro giorno è stato a dir poco meraviglioso!

Superbe séjour

La maison est très confortable et bien adapté aux chaleurs du mois d’août avec une climatisation très efficace. Que dire de la vue! Certainement la plus belle depuis que nous louons des résidences.Le calme est impressionnant.La région n'est pas surpeuplée de touristes et on est vraiment au cœur de l'Italie,on vit avec eux. Bon,reste les routes assez trouées ,mais ça fait partie du charme!Merci à Peter pour la communication à distance et le système de boite à clé à l'arrivée.

Fantastische plek voor rustzoekers.

Wij hebben een fantastische vakantie gehad in dit heerlijke huis met het meest geweldige uitzicht dat wij ooit in een vakantiehuis hebben gehad. De omgeving is adembenemend. Er is veel natuur te zien, vooral in het nationaal park Gran Sasso. Het is afgelegen , stil en echt een plek voor rustzoekers.

Wonderful holiday in unknown Italy

The little house is superbe equipped. Everything was according to plan. The local stores, Bisenti, have all you need for food and what so on. People are very friendly. The house lies in a very silent environment .... only hope is that there isn't a group of tourist in another house making a party....) Will I come back? yes

So very peaceful

Had absolutely everything that we needed. A comfortable bed with much needed air conditioning. A well-equipped kitchen with plenty of sharp knives and chopping boards. A decent size fridge with freezer space and views - well they took our breath-away. It felt like home from the very first day!

Great place to relax & immerse in nature

Casa del Falco is a perfect fit for nature lovers and to get away from urban stress ! The view from the terrace is simply amazing. One can stay there all day (and evening), just relaxing, reading or enjoying the view or some Italian wine ;-) There are no direct neighbours so the only external noise you hear is ... birds singing and tractors working in the fields. The house is very comfortable, perfectly clean and nicely decorated. The countryside roads can be challenging at times as most of them are in rather poor condition. Luckily, there are lots of interesting places to visit not too far away. Campo Imperatore and Rocca Calascio are absolute musts. As well as the many small medieval villages nearby that are all worth visiting.

Beautiful location

It is a very isolated property with fantastic views. Well equipped and well maintained with good service from the owners. It is very isolated though. The white roads are maintained better than many and passable. However the roads in the area are generally minor, twisty and have suffered in the 2009 earthquake. This limits how far you can go in a day but the upside is the roads are generally quiet. There is plenty within reach to see. If you want to potter in rural Italy, enjoy the beauty of the Grand Sasso area, enjoy the local cuisine and end your day sipping wine on the patio admiring the mountain landscape this is for you.

Perfect Abruzzo location between mountains and sea

Casa del Falco is an extremely comfortable and well equipped house in Abruzzo, ideally positioned between the Gran Sasso mountains (with the highest peaks visible from the window) and several laid-back beach resorts to suit most tastes. For those tired of either, there are a host of lovely old towns to wander around. We loved the solitude, broken only by farming sounds. Mosquito nets on all the windows allowed us to keep cool in 35C temperatures. When the local roads are eventually mended it would be perfection!

Excellent peaceful location

This was even better than the promotion, especially if you love watching nature go by. We had visits from bats, toads and fireflies, not to mention the lizards and saw amongst others golden oriole, buzzards and heron. The views of the mountains and the surrounding countryside from both the house and the patio are stunning. Eating and groceries etc are well provided but a half hour drive away. Similarly plenty to visit including Campo Imperatore, Atri and a number of villages. The owner was most helpful both with instructions and pre-queries. We stayed for 16 days and would thoroughly recommend.

Perfect relaxed getaway

Amazing property with stunning views. Particularly enjoyed having bbqs on the patio and the pizza oven was an unexpected bonus. The surrounding area was serene and beautiful, with mountains to climb or gorgeous, historic towns to visit. Perfect 5 day break from work, 10/10 would stay again.

Peaceful enclave, view of mountain, olive groves

The house is tucked on the side of hills, with a patio area surrounded by herbs and – for this London resident – the much welcome sound of birds. There are good sized rooms, a wood pizza oven, and a useful selection of books on wildlife and the local area. There is space for a more active or relaxed routine, and mountain walks are easily accessible by car. A particular favourite of mine was discovering wildflowers in the mountains where snow had melted from winter. Beautiful mediaeval towns are easily accessible for anyone who wants to explore this great area of Italy. We mixed up enjoying the house and exploring and would recommend it to others for the same.

Lovely holiday home in the middle of Italian countryside. Short drive from supermarkets and local towns and villages, though I was quite happy sitting on the patio with a view of snow covered mountains.

Beautiful Abruzzo!

I went with a group of friends for a 4 night stay at Casa del Falco in May 2015 and had a wonderful time. The villa has truly breathtaking views of rolling countryside and mountains (snow-capped when we were there). We found the house clean, with all facilities working perfectly. The bedrooms and the living space are bright, well-sized and pleasantly furnished. The kitchen is kitted out perfectly. In this part of the Abruzzo, you will find many delightful towns and villages sporting fine restaurants and historic buildings, including Castel del Monte and Atri. This is a must visit if you want to enjoy rural Italy.
