The Cedar is a cozy, thoughtfully restored studio cabin with a queen bed and one bathroom, offering views of Cashiers Lake and a comfortable place to relax after a day exploring the mountains.

Inside, you'll find a kitchen, Wi-Fi, air conditioning, and the everyday essentials for an enjoyable stay.

Originally a U.S. Forest Service cabin in Waynesville, the Cedar was relocated to Cashiers Lake and renovated in 2021. Its historic character and modern conveniences create a welcoming retreat just a short walk from the heart of Cashiers.

Dogs are welcome at the Cedar, making it a convenient home base for guests exploring the area with their four-legged companions.

Guest Access:
You'll have the entire Cedar cabin to yourself, along with free on-site parking.

Shared outdoor amenities include a lakeside gazebo with bench seating, communal fire pit, charcoal grill, and an outdoor sink.

The gazebo is a pleasant spot to enjoy morning coffee, unwind with a book, or take in the views across Cashiers Lake.

The Neighborhood:
The Cedar is part of Cashiers Lake Cabins, a small historic cabin community near the heart of Cashiers. Local shops, restaurants, coffee, and other favorites are within easy walking distance.

In autumn, the surrounding mountains offer beautiful fall colors, scenic drives, and waterfall hikes. Nearby Highlands and other mountain destinations provide even more opportunities to explore the area.

Getting Around:
Free parking is available on-site. Several shops and restaurants in central Cashiers are within walking distance, but a car is recommended for exploring nearby waterfalls, hiking trails, scenic overlooks, Highlands, and other mountain destinations.

Other Things to Note:
The Cedar offers views of Cashiers Lake and is one of several cabins on a compact shared property. You'll have your own private cabin, but neighboring cabins are nearby and outdoor amenities are shared.

Catch-and-release shore fishing is welcome on the private lake. It's more about the relaxing view than the catch, and the creeks around Cashiers and Glenville offer great fishing nearby. No gear provided; please be mindful of others enjoying the view. All other water use is off limits.

The Cedar is best suited to guests who appreciate historic character, walkability, lake views, and convenient access to Cashiers rather than a secluded or highly private mountain retreat.

Pet policy: Dogs are welcome but must remain supervised and leashed whenever outdoors. Please do not allow pets to roam the shared property unattended, and review the complete pet policy and house rules before your stay.
