We had a wonderful and relaxing stay in this beautiful, charming and spacious home. It was the perfect spot for our large family attending a wedding in Monterey. The home is well appointed with an interesting vintage vibe along with all the modern comforts you would ever need. The property is truly stunning with hot tubs, decks and patios along with several acres of beautiful vistas. Great pride and care of ownership shine throughout this home and property. Thanks again and we do hope to return in the future!

Wow, this home was ment to hold us over until our regular Jazz Festival house was available, but we all fell in love! From the large in ground hot tub, to the most well stock home we have ever stayed in, to the timely responses to our every question or request, to the numerous places that seven of us could gather, dine or just enjoy the serenity of the home and grounds, it surpassed every expectation! We are booking our return stay.

Fabulous Family Get-away

We loved this beautifully appointed home that is super well stocked with everything you need. The 5 rooms all with baths was perfect for extended family of mostly adults. We loved the scenic and peaceful "resort" like setting and the two hottubs had space for everyone. Close to Carmel and Monterey but not in the fray of the touristy parking mess made this the perfect place to stay.

We stayed at this beautiful and relaxing woodland property with our extended family to celebrate my husband’s 75th birthday. He very much enjoyed the time there. Everything from the outdoor spaces and the hot tubs to the lovely, large home were well maintained. The site was centrally located for all the activities we had planned. We found the home to be very relaxing and comfortable when we were gathered together. We also appreciated how easy it was to communicate with Susan regarding questions. It is definitely a place we would enjoy returning to.

Large house on beautiful and a good bit of charm

A spacious house with a nice layout and furnishings that allowed our family and friends to share but also have privacy. The house has nice outdoor spaces, we managed to eat on the deck off the dining room , in the backyard and in the front bricked area. The kitchen is a little bit old-fashioned, but it definitely is equipped, but just about everything you could dream of having in the kitchen.

Wonderful, Central Location in Monterey-Carmel-Pacific Grove Area

The house was large and fully accommodated our extended family of 10 with 5 bedrooms and 5 bathrooms. the living room was large and comfortable, as was the dining room and kitchen (which was a popular gathering location, with its corner nook with great views). The grounds were spacious and spectacular--I have never seen landscaping as beautiful in the area and so true to the unique landscape components of the Monterey-Carmel area. Every one in the family commented daily on the beauty of the house and grounds. The interior of the house, though a bit dated (as others have mentioned), seems deliberately faithful to its provenance and was comfortable and a good experience in every way; the spacious deck was especially pleasant. And the view in every direction of the wonderfully landscaped grounds was beautiful in a way that itself became a significant part of everyone's enjoyment of our stay on the Peninsula. And the landscaping and the architecture of the place seemed to bring together the unique feel of the area in a way I had never experienced before, even having grown up there and visited many times. I have perhaps overused the word "unique", but the feeling of unique beauty lingers still. A great place for our family get-together.

Wonderful place for a family vacation

Beautiful Property Setting & Home

We could not have been happier with our stay. What a beautiful home and the location/setting was awesome! Everything was very clean, quiet, warm and welcoming. Beds were comfortable and kitchen well stocked. We were really lucky to have had the opportunity to get enjoy some of the plums grown by the owner and I especially loved the comforts of the master bedroom!! The owner was very quick to reply to messages and very easy to work with. Thank you for letting us use your home to build some great family memories.

Five Star Stay!

This home is fabulous! It has so much charm and comfort! We enjoyed the gorgeous gardens and outdoor living spaces. The location was central and perfect for day trips all around the surrounding areas. The owners communicated quickly and ensured our stay was a five star experience.

Old friends

5 couples old college friends…..great home beautiful gardens quiet and peaceful but close to Carmel Monterey and Pebble beach. Plus we drove to Big Sir and Basin Park….cool sunny weather was great.

Amazing property, good for work group

This is a lovely property. We rented this house for a work event and it was very spacious with enough rooms and bathrooms for a large group of colleagues. We particularly enjoyed the hot tubs and the lush landscape surrounding them. Thank you for sharing your home!

Celebrating Dad’s 90th Birthday

Great space and location

The property served our family well. We enjoyed the five bedrooms and five bathrooms, the dining and living rooms and outdoor space including the two hot tubs. The location is away from the city, so very quiet, yet, within a 10 minute drive. The kitchen has everything needed to cook and serve a large family. The reason for my awarding of only 4 stars is that the interior of the house can use some refreshing and updating. Overall, I would not hesitate to recommend this property for a large family visiting the Monterey Bay Area.

Family getaway

Spacious Family Retreat

Our group of 11 family members loved the comfortable and spacious family home and grounds, especially the patios, decks and large inground hot tub. Jack’s Peak Retreat provided the perfect base for all our family ladventures in Monterey, Carmel and Big Sur! We hope to visit again while the grandchildren are still young and excited by everything. We appreciated the fully equipped kitchen and the welcoming basket of fruit, cheese and crackers!

Dream Stay In Monterey Bay

We stayed at this home for 12 days with our 3 adult children, their spouses and 2 grandchildren under 3 and we couldn’t have asked for a more perfect place for our vacation. The home is 5 minutes from grocery and dining and just 15 minutes to beaches in Monterey and Carmel. Everyone enjoyed having their own rooms and bathrooms. The kitchen had everything we needed and then some. The house is filled with charm and it was so relaxing to listen to the owls at night and see deer in the yard every morning, and to play games on the back deck at night with the standing heaters keeping us warm. The flowers and oaks and fruit trees were just gorgeous as well. We enjoyed quiet soaks in the hot tub spas most evenings and really enjoyed looking through the many antique books and newspapers in the home. The host was very responsive to anything we needed and very generous with a basket full of well known and lesser known places to see in the area. I have been to the area several times and had never been to Point Lobos. We went based on a suggestion from the owners book and it was a highlight of our whole trip. This home is a dream and we would love to come to the area again next year and stay in the same property. If you’re staying in the Monterey/Carmel area, you couldn’t find a more enjoyable stay than Jacks Peak Retreat.
