"The room was clean and smelled good when we checked in. Older hotel, mattress was ok, bedding was really good, a/c worked great. Humidity has made some items rust (lampshades), maintenance needed to pay attention to a few more things like replacing weather stripping around the door and a blank cover for an elevated junction box. There is no clear view of the marina from the ground floor, but the grounds around the hotel were decent enough. For what we paid it was fine."

"This is a great hotel. Anniversary stay. Very modern, upscale rooms. Rooms came with many extras such as snacks, beach towels and chairs, access to free-use bicycles. Within walking distance of the village, lighthouse, restaurants, ice cream places, and coffee shops. Ferry slip is also close by. Hanna, General Manager, was a highly welcoming host and gave us pointers about the island. Best customer service. We will most definitely stay at this hotel again the next time we are on the OBX."

"Can't expect excellent standards at a motel that must be at least 70 years old. But considering its age, it was very, very well worth the money. The hardwood floors appeared to be new, as was the mattress, the TV, the paint, and the shower. The window AC was noisy, but kept the room artic cold (had to clean the filter screen). I would stay here again."

"This is a beautiful home! It was so nice to sit on the dock and enjoy the view. We loved watching the car ferry go by and it wasn't loud or disruptive at all. It was very, very, clean and I loved the little sitting area to drink coffee in the morning and look at the ocean. We made day trips to Shackleford Banks to see wild horses and did a Crystal Coast Ecotour with Captain Tony in Moorehead City. Both were highlights of our trip. "The description was accurate.The inside was cute and clean. The bed was comfortable, the shower worked great, the A/C kept the room at a perfect temperature, & there was a nice/smaller refrigerator to put enough things. We would come back again!"
