Great for Couples!

We had a fantastic stay in Candolim at Marbella. The location is secluded enough to be away from the noise, but also very close to the beach. The room was lovely and we had several meals at the guest house, all of which were great. I’d like to mention Mukti in particular, who was always incredibly friendly and kind. Very much recommend staying here, we will return!

Marbella is beautiful property with top notch staff, the food is amazing and location is excellent. By the time we left we felt like family. During our trip to India we stayed in a range of hotels including 5 star luxury properties. Marbella was by far our favorite.

Marbella guest house is a wonderful place to stay. it's in a fabulous location at the end of a quiet lane yet only a short walk to the beach, bars and restaurants. The rooms are all individual, large, clean and airy and with unique touches such as beautifully tiled bathrooms and antique furniture. There is a restaurant on site serving delicious food whenever you want it and the staff are great, freindly and welcoming. We can't wait to return.

Really enjoyed the Marbella. Staff were friendly and helpful, and the space was beautifully decorated. The room was comfortable - but no frills - definitely great value and quality for the price compared to other options at this price point in India.

Stayed at Marbella Guest House for 4 days over the November period. A lovely quiet place at the end of the street, yet only short 10 minute walk to Sinquerim beach, Fort Aguada and to Main Street and restaurants. Room was very clean, well equipped and air conditioned. Staff were all friendly and had several meals at the guest house that were all good and reasonably priced. A great place to stay if you want to get away from the hussle & bustle of Candolim and Calangute and are looking for a more boutique stay, with Portuguese style. Will definitely be back here again.

Beautiful old house with fantastic service

This is a beautiful hotel in a secluded spot. The service and food were outstanding, and it was overall a very relaxed place. The room was beautiful, old hardwoods and tiles with good amenities (mosquito net, aircon, fan) and a nice bathroom. It is an old building so sound did travel a little from other rooms, but we were very happy overall with our stay.

The serenity, the feeling of being in a private home. The bird life and the way staff gave one the feeling that nothing was too much trouble and quietly went about making you feel at home. This property is ideal for guests who are wanting seclusion and quiet. Meals are first class and cooked freshly at any time. Some of the best meals had in Goa.

The rooms were good classic style but I could not stay for long since the property is in hill area and is old the following night there was sudden attack of ants all.over the place not sure of the exact reason the staff tried doing some pest control but it was not reducing so the owner of the guest house made an alternative arrangement and made us move to other property.

The property really is an amazing place to stay. The staff is very welcoming and flexible to your wishes. The location may be far for some tourist attractions, but there is definately lots to see around you as well.

A little haven in Candolim

Marbella Guest House is a little away from the hustle and bustle of the main street in Sinquerim so we had a very peaceful stay. The room was beautiful and we particularly enjoyed the fresh breakfast in the courtyard every morning.

Marbella is a beautiful, elegant haven above Candolim beach, not far from Fort Aguada. The guest house rambles over several floors of a delightful colonial-era building, within grounds nesting in the hill leading up to Fort Aguada. The entire house is fitted out with delightful original furniture, & is centred around an inner room with tables and chairs and a courtyard for meals or relaxing. I was travelling with my son and had originally booked one of the smaller rooms, and then Sajjan suggested via whatsapp that I take the penthouse instead. What a find that was! The penthouse consists of a large bedroom, an even larger sitting room (in which one of the sofas was converted to a bed for my son), a small dining area, a bathroom and an enormous terrace. All for about half the cost of one of the chain hotels we’d been looking at (which would have given us a single 25m2 room with twin beds). Marbella has a kitchen which provides, at extra cost, breakfast, lunch and dinner, with plenty of choice for every palate. The staff make everything from scratch; the quality is high and the taste is exceptional. Marbella is about a 500m walk to the Candolim beach. While the first beach huts are about 300m along, the best and most popular of them start about 1km along. We stayed at Marbella for 6 nights, and I can’t and I can’t speak highly enough of it. Its quality of presentation and overall friendliness was just magnificent.

What a lovely colonial style guest house! We loved our stay at Marbella last month. Away from the hustle of Candolim, yet very accessible to it, this beautiful guest house is perfect if you like olden charm and homely hospitality. The staff is very accommodating, friendly, and efficient. The room we were given was big and had a beautiful view into their gorgeous garden. The food is made to order and retains Goan flavours wherever claimed. All in all it’s a great place to stay if you’re visiting Candolim.

Awesome place

Being an English girl, working in Mumbai, quite often a getaway break to a local retreat without all the hustle and bustle in definitely on the cards. After extensive googling, I stumbled across the Marbella guest house which appeared to be a typical Goan retreat, close to a beach. All I can say is wow - this place does not disappoint. Sajjan, the manager is one of the most attentive and efficient managers I’ve experienced in India As for the guest house, it’s simply magical. I stayed in the penthouse (at a very reasonable cost). It’s quite simply, beautiful. The decor is stunning, the bed is comfy and it’s very clean. The location is sublime. Quite often, we only use hotels to sleep or to swim, but as this guest house was so charming, I decided to hang out for a while and enjoy copious cups of tea whilst sitting on the terrace and enjoying the tranquility of it all. Eating at the guest house is a must. Their menu is spot on and their breakfasts are perfect. I took the opportunity to try their home made Goan curry (as recommended by a trip advisor traveller) and I can honestly say, it’s the best curry I’ve ever eaten. Having enquired into the Goan style of cooking, the chef offered to show me the curry was cooked including all the step by step preparation. This was such an awesome experience. So.. in summary.... an 11/10 for me. 10/10 doesn’t do it justice. Service, location, food, room, ambience, attention to details... spot on. Thank you Marbella. You’ve nailed it.

Our stay at Marbella House left us with extremely mixed emotions. While the staff and food were exceptional, there were some fundamental flaws. Upon arrival, we were informed that the room we had booked had leaked during a rainy night. We were upgraded and found no issue at this point. It was not until that after 2 nights we were moved into the room we booked that our concerns started. Predictably it rained again, the room had not been repaired it had simply “dried out” and was not fit for purpose - so we were awoken at 1am with the rain leaking at multiple entry points, soaking our bed leaving us with cold and wet sheets, a slippery and dangerous tile floor and ruined technological products and personal possessions. Our wet bed caused a sleepless and distressed night, not only ruining our night but also the following days. The mumbled apology at the time, and being moved into the 3rd room of our stay did not meet expectations on how the situation could have been resolved. Upon check out, the only compensation we were offered was a removal of a 10% service charge - we werent made aware of - for paying on card. However we can not fault the front of house and kitchen staff and the incredible food they produced which was the saving grace of this potentially amazing yet extremely disappointing stay at Marbella.

Dear Oscar, I'm very sorry for all the inconvenience caused to you, and that I was out of town and couldn't attend to the problems personally. The broken roof tiles had in fact been replaced, but new damage had occurred due to the falling of fruits our local mango picker had apparently overlooked. Now we added a big plastic sheet in the attic, to prevent any further disasters, such as monkeys shifting tiles. I'm also sorry that no real compensation was offered by the staff. They thought that since you were upgraded in your accommodation, everything should be okay, which it was most definitely not. If you ever decide to visit us again we will make sure to make it up to you. Warm regards and sorry again,

Truly the perfect stay. 10/10. Vibe: authentic Indian and so beautiful. An old renovated house with only 6 rooms. Dreamy and gorgeous. Location: the best of both worlds. Super close to all the action in Candolim (bars, shops, restaurants) and you can WALK to the beach and Fort Aguate. The hotel itself is on a charming dead end street so the stat itself is quiet and private. Staff: so friendly! Housekeeper was great, 24/7 staff, on-site chef who makes delicious, fresh food. Food is an extra cost but is extremely affordable. Cost: so reasonable especially for how excellent it is. We had the “penthouse” that included a private terrace, bathroom, bedroom, dining room, and HUGE living room and it was about $40USD per night. I would recommend this place to anyone and am already dying to go back!! Sheer perfection.

Guesthouse with charm

The lovely gardens of Marbella are a delight to sit in and have your meals. I had a Twin room with comfortable beds and nicely decorated bathroom with good water pressure. There’s air con, fan and wifi. The chefs are wonderful and food yummy and reasonably priced. Staff are all very friendly and helpful. It is an easy walk of 15 mins to the beach and fort. Highly recommended for ambience and quiet.

Indian beach holiday

We spent 5 nights here and after a variety of different accommodations in India this proved to be an oasis of calm! Well run by charming staff. Especially impressed by the guys cooking and serving our meals, which were delicious and all cooked to order. The coffee was good too! We had booked the garden room but on arrival the penthouse was available and we were offered that at a discount so took up the offer. It was absolutely worth the money. Amazing room with lovely balcony, it felt like you were sitting out in the jungle. The beach is an easy 5 -10 min walk and there are plenty of places to eat and drink close by. Would recommend without hesitation.

A lovely guest house full of character and with very friendly and helpful staff. Excellent food and an oasis of calm in the midst of the hustle and bustle of the local area.
