"Rooms look dated and small, with a mirror that feels a bit creepy (seems like those one sided mirrors). Bathroom is ok. Price is a bit high for what it serves when you compare it to other hotels - since it was only for one night, is ok, but I would not recommend for longer stays."
"We had an amazing stay for a romantic weekend. We did have to lay $42 for 2 cocktails so that was a bit ridiculous but besides that everything was perfect "
"Everything is "unique" about Captain Grant's!...The perfect hosts Carol and Ted; the ambience; the beautiful furnishings; the cozy room with all the amenities; the absolutely fabulous breakfast w/ mimosas, pancakes with real maple syrup and blueberry topping on a exquisitely, complete totally antique, setting table arrangement; all the available extras...beer, wine, coffee. tea, brandy in the room, etc. A most wonderful experience"
"The couple who run this inn, Erin and Josh, have done a beautiful job renovating the 1700s farm house into an atmosphere of quiet, and rustic beauty. Everything about the inn, inside and out, has been done with careful artistic taste. A lovely antidote to the noisy, busy modern world."
"This was a last minute purchase for me, and did not disappoint. The woman and the check in desk was informative, friendly and helpful from the minute we said hello - I felt comfortable, safe and seen. The room was comfortable, and had temperature controls that worked extraordinarily well. The bed was so good that I fell asleep trying it out - yes, I stopped because I was tired. It was quiet, which paired well with my visit to the museum. Check out was online and a breeze. I definitely recommend...
"It was a great stay. It was our first time staying at a Bed and Breakfast and will certainly not be our last now with such a great experience we had at the House of 1833. Evan was an exceptional host/chef. He gave us a tour of the home and the history. The breakfast in the morning was incredible from the homemade apple cranberry muffin to the Greek Italian Mac & Cheese Spinach Souffle. We would highly recommend this B&B to anyone looking for a quiet, yet close to town place to stay. "
