The Space:

Named in honor of the soul legend, the Joe Cocker Loft invites you to a deep sense of calm within a 300‑year‑old historic watermill, where stone and wood blend in perfect harmony. The main bedroom features a cosy double bed ideal for peaceful nights, while the second bedroom offers twin beds perfect for restful moments. The fully equipped bathroom provides all the comfort you need for your daily well‑being.

Outdoors, the garden and the proximity to the Coura River create an atmosphere of absolute serenity. Please note that this property does not have a kitchen, making it a space dedicated entirely to pure rest and the contemplation of nature.



Guest Access:

Guests have exclusive access to the entire property, including the private gardens and the path that leads directly to the Coura River’s natural beach. The property offers free private parking with space for several vehicles.

The Neighborhood:

The Coura River wraps around the property in a generous curve, creating a crystal‑clear river beach right at your doorstep. Vilar de Mouros, a peaceful riverside village in Alto Minho — famous for hosting Portugal’s oldest music festival — offers silence, nature, and the constant sound of water flowing over the rocks. In summer, the Coura provides excellent swimming conditions, with calm, clean waters and sandy banks.



Just a few kilometers away, Caminha (5 km) preserves its medieval historic center, with the Clock Tower, a granite square, restaurants, and a ferry connection to Spain. Even closer, Vila Nova de Cerveira invites you to explore art, its hilltop castle, and the Minho River. Spain is only 20 km away: La Guardia, renowned for its seafood preserves, is a classic getaway.



Further afield — but unmissable — are the Atlantic beaches of Moledo and Vila Praia de Âncora (10 km), Viana do Castelo (25 km) with the Santa Luzia Basilica perched on the hilltop, Ponte de Lima (30 km), and even Peneda‑Gerês National Park (40 km). For longer trips, Porto Airport and Santiago de Compostela are both about 90 km away.



Getting Around:

Driving is the most convenient way to explore the region: Caminha is just 5 minutes away, Viana do Castelo 30 minutes, and Porto a little over an hour, with the A28 providing fast access north and south. The Spanish border in Caminha opens the way to Galicia’s Rías Baixas. The property offers free private parking for several vehicles.

For long‑distance travelers, access is simple: Porto Airport is about 1 hour away via the A28, Lisbon 4 hours via the A1/A28, Santiago de Compostela 1 hour via the AP‑9/A28, and Vigo only 45 minutes. For those who prefer public transport, Transdev buses connect Vilar de Mouros to Caminha, where you’ll find a train station (5 km) on the scenic Minho Line with direct service to Porto. The nearest bus stop is about 500 meters from the village.
