Perfect Location For Your Lake Getaway

Sunset Cottage at Lake Barkley is a beautifully renovated, 4 bedroom 4 bath waterfront rental home in a quiet cove near Lake Barkley Lodge and Marina. The home has been professionally decorated, with attention to detail to make your stay relaxing and memorable.

Sunset Cottage will accommodate multi-family and friend gatherings and reunions, as it has beds for 12 but will sleep up to 14 people. The kitchen has new stainless appliances, and is fully stocked for families who enjoy cooking. A propane gas grill is also provided. The eat-in kitchen provides a large island that seats 8. A spacious deck has a dining table for 8 and beautiful outdoor wicker furniture. A screened-in porch on the lower level provides a dining table for 6 and wicker furniture to seat an additional 9 people.

The property has a gently sloped yard that leads to a private covered dock and 2 jet ski pads. Guests are invited to use the perimeter of the private dock during the summer months as the owner's boat occupies the covered lift. Ropes and bumpers are provided. A fire pit near the water's edge provides the perfect opportunity for roasting marshmallows and hot dogs, or just relaxing and making memories with family and friends.

Sunset Cottage is located in the popular Little River area of Lake Barkley, with Sandy Beach just across the bay. Enjoy your morning coffee while watching the deer play at the water's edge, or catch a glimpse of the famous Bald Eagles and Great White Pelicans as they soar across the lake.

Two kayaks are provided for guests who would like to explore the tranquil area by water.

The home's loft is the ideal space for a family with kids. It has a king-size bed and 2 twin beds with trundles to accommodate 2 additional persons. The loft includes a full private bath, and a 36 inch Smart TV. Additional Smart TV's are equipped with YouTube TV in the Master Bedroom (42 inch) and Lower Level Family Room (55 inch). The Lower Level Blue Bedroom has a 32 inch flat screen TV with YouTube TV. Ample parking space is provided with driveways on both sides of the home, and includes a carport.

The Rivers End boat ramp is conveniently located just down the street from the entrance of our subdivision, Parkview Shores (approx 1/2 mile).

Our family of 6 (grandparents, parents, kids - 9 & 12) really enjoyed our stay! We like spending a few days at a lake during fall break each year. Our usual place was booked and we were lucky enough to find this beautiful property! It checked all our box's. The fishing was exciting, we reeled in some of the biggest fish we've ever cought (lake or inshore fishing the gulf). The areas we kayaked to and explored were also exciting. The property is beautiful, the house is cozy, well decorated, the bathroom's and bedrooms are very nice, the bed linens were clean and comfortable. The screened in porch and fire pit we're awesome! We were very happy with the accomodations and will be back in the future.

Gorgeous house in a spectacular setting, Sunset Cottage has everything you'd need or want for a relaxing holiday in the countryside.All the rooms are beautifully furnished for comfort and utility.The outdoor spaces are well kept and again comfortable and well equipped. We used the kayaks from the jetty, even the lifejackets were provided.We were delighted with our choice of holiday accommodation.

The location of the home was great. We enjoyed fishing, the beautiful lake and serenity. Wildlife especially the deer. The house was really nice and we really enjoyed sitting in the enclosed porch downstairs in the afternoon. We would highly recommend this place.

We have stayed in several VRBO properties at Lake Barkley, and this one was our favorite! We had four couples, and each of us had our own bedroom and bathroom. The lake access and private dock were perfect for us, and the driveway was spacious enough for our boat trailer. Great stay!

Enjoy the Lake while having your morning coffee

This was a last hurrah for the summer and we packed it in!The house is a perfect layout… we were 6 adults and 4 kids .. everyone had a bed and space to spread out!The deck in the morning is magical and the screen porch at night was filled with laughter.Perfect location, the house had everything we needed and the host was great!

We highly recommend this beautiful home. This was our second time at this home. We enjoyed the deck and the screen room. We rented a pontoon boat for the week at Lake Barkley Marina. We had a blast in the water. Grandson caught his first catfish. Wonderful memories made. We will be back!

Fabulous lake house!

We stayed as a family (of 8) in this beautiful lake house as the start of our family vacation. The house is beautifully updated, with lots of space for our family. Double washer and dryers, plenty of games, comfortable linens, large spa-like showers, easy lake access, etc. the kids really enjoyed using the provided kayaks, and we enjoyed grilling steaks out on the deck. We kept a nice fire going outside down by the lake, and really enjoyed the beautiful view. We would definitely stay here again!

Perfect Vacation Home for 3 Generations

The layout of this home is perfect for kids, parents and grandparents. We stayed for 4 nights during a very rainy week, but had plenty of room to spread out on different levels. Loved having a bathroom linked with each bedroom. We cooked most of our meals at the house and found all the supplies we needed - even a crockpot.The location is great for exploring the Land Between the Lakes. Loved the Homeplace 1850's Working Farm and Nature Center. Would definitely stay here again!

Property is exactly as expected. Only concern which was mentioned to the owner already is Down Pillows (feather) for those with feather allergies. Home was clean. View was great. Parking is easy.

Thanksgiving Getaway

The property is very nice. Plenty of space for 5 adults and 5 children. The kitchen is fully stocked with dishes and cookware. Beautiful views right on the lake and the owner supplied wood.

Great Ladies Getaway

Family time

The home was lovely inside and out. Even though it rained all weekend the views were spectacular from every level of the home. The kitchen island was perfect for everyone to sit around and have meals and play games, and the screened in porch was great for hanging out in the evening.

A Relaxing Weekend Away

This house is beautiful, and the location is serene, with deer wandering through the yard throughout the day. We had 8 people stay in the house, and we could have fit more without feeling cramped at all. The house was clean, and the kayaks, screened-in patio, and lounge area down by the water really made our weekend.

Perfect Rental

We are a group of 15 that have gone to Barkley yearly for 30 years. Sunset Cottage is just perfect! We range from ages 60 to 80. It couldn’t be more beautiful.

Gem of a home

We all loved this house! They have everything we needed - including 2 fridges, 2 washers and dryers, 4 bathrooms/showers and lots of beds! Beautiful home and lake views. Mike, the owner, was so easy to work with and you can tell he loves this home and happy to open it up to families. What a treasure!
