"Great communication with host. View onto the lake is stunning. Plenty of furniture outside to enjoy the view. Location is pretty central to Wendy’s Market, Elgin and Westport to stock up on groceries. House had all we needed (laundry detergent, dishwashing detergent, clean towels/linens. AC was nice to have as it was hot during our stay. House was cleaned nicely for our arrival. "

"Very relaxing stay. Modern house with all amenities. Owners were available and even reached out when the fire ban was set in place; we would not have known. Our stay was during a very hot week but we were never hot in the house. The house is very open at the back with large windows and patio doors providing a beautiful view of the river. The open design enables voices to carry to the second floor main bedroom and partly open loft bedroom so bring ear plugs. Also recommended are eye masks for...

"This location was excellent. We were a big group with kids and had more than enough space. The backyard was great for the kids, bonfire and space to play games, and a good dock to dock our boat. Great communication with the host and very clean. Would recommend this place. "

"What an adorable little cabin. Clean and well stocked. The water was shallow off the dock but we were able to use the paddle boards and kayaks provided to paddle out into the deeper water and do some fishing. The hosts were very responsive and helpful. This cabin is highly rated for a reason. Would definately recommend."

"This was our first time stay here and it was a great experience. We had 12 adults there were enough bedrooms and bathrooms for everyone. We also had 4 boats and it was a little tight at the docks, but we were able to make it work. Very nice area. The water was a little rough at the docks over the weekend with all the boats going by. It did settle down during the week. You can tell they have been working on the house to improve it. "

"A slice of paradise! The whole experience exceeded expectations. The property is deep in the bush with a few friendly neighbours. The hosts were inviting, caring and overall great people. Our dog had glorious freedom and a few friendly neighbourhood dogs to socialize with. I cannot recommend this place enough. A great time for the family. We can’t wait to visit again with a couple more little ones. Thank you for sharing your space with us!"

"Our stay at the JEMH Cottage was everything we wanted it to be. Our one daughter and son-in-law were with us and their three daughters ages 17, 8, 6 and our younger daughter and son-in-law and their 1year old daughter. They all said they had the “the best time ever. Everyone had comfortable beds to sleep in, even the 1 year old had a pack-n-play available for her. The cottage was very clean inside. "Awesome property for a group of friends trying to hangout and have a good time. Owner was super helpful and understanding on various matters. Great beach access, where you can swim to various different islands and do cliff jumping. As you can see in the photo, there was also a water trampoline which the owners allowed us to use. "Basic cottage. We appreciated air conditioning and view. Exterior chairs where all broken, had to wash dishes, dirty floors. BBQ had no grill so took neighbors, was rusty and very dirty. Can not swim as mentioned. Only for fishing. There is a beach at a waking distance but not nice to swim in, small and weeds. Good place to fish if this is your intention. Fast response when communicating. Will ask you to sign a discharge right at the beginning which is not a good sign. Can’t get refund. Not as...

"Beautiful views. Best dog vacation ever. Plenty of supplies. Great kayaking. There was a gnat problem every morning. They would cover sinks and counters. A quick cleaning and they’d be gone until next day. "

"Had a great time at the sunrise cottage. Accommodations and amenities (restaurant, supplies and boat rental just across the road) were much appreciated. The lake was the big highlight as it reminded us of what we’d find at Algonquin, but less than half as far from Montreal. "

"Online information false/misleading and the property is completely unsuitable for anyone with even minor mobility issues. I was booked for two nights but left after one and went to a motel. - notwithstanding what the website advertises, this cabin does NOT have a bathroom. A bathroom is available in the main house, 50 or so meters away. It is not separate from the host's living space (i.e. not private). "Many reviews substantiate that Bedford Lake House is a 5 star property. Check-in, Facilities, Wi-fi, all first class. For our three-generation family of 7 including two young girls of 5 and 7 what made our stay so special. First, the view from the cottage over Devil Lake, the sunsets were amazing. Second, the flower and vegetable garden - where are young girls filled their buckets every day with ripe tomatoes, cabbage, carrots, peppers, beans, herbs, strawberries, beets .. the list goes on....
