"Finding Rushop Hall was a challenge - did I really have to drive up a bridle path? Yes! But so worth the journey. We'd asked for an evening meal and it was excellent: bruschetta, parma wrapped chicken breasts in a delicate sauce, chocolate brownies with icecream and a berry compote, as was the choice of wine. All freshly cooked. Stupendous breakfast too.
The bedroom was comfortable with a sofa, books to read, good toiletries. My only quibble was the pillows, which were a bit lumpy, and...

"I can't recommend this highly enough.
Fabulously well appointed flat in a perfect location for Buxton.
Private car parking space and great communication from / with the owner.
Our party was two couples looking for a home away from home and absolutely got that here.
The flat had so many lovely, homey touches that we actually ended up staying in two nights of our three night stay, when normally we would be out on the town.
Lots of useful information from the owner and also in the flat....

"This isn't your run-of-the-mill hotel chain, here you get very nice and quirky apartments with good facilities. Location is top notch in the middle of the Peak District. Hosts are friendly and helpful. Two words of caution: 1) remember to bring your own bath towels! Otherwise you will be charged per set for renting these separately. 2) remember to bring plenty of pound coins for the electricity meter! :)"

Not a great problem at all, but think these items were inadvertently left at the changeover clean. But this is not an important criticism - the property was wonderful."

"We had a wonderful stay at Curlew Cottage.
The location is great with fantastic views over the dales, although the weather was against us a bit.
The cottage is very comfortable and well equipped. Everything we needed for self catering was provided.
The only thing we would have liked was a mattress topper as my wife and I found the bed a little firm, but that is personal preference.
We had the absolute pleasure of seeing the resident barn owl on a few occasions which was a real treat.

"Very cute little cottage. It is very clean, has all the comforts of home but away from home. We didn’t expect all the little extras that make our holiday perfect such as tea, coffee, milk and even biscuits!
There is everything you need in the kitchen if you want to cook!
It is conveniently situated in the village with shops, pubs and restaurants.
Location is also near Monsal trail for walking and cycling along all the beautiful dales by the river Rye.
