"When I came into the hotel and was given my room key, the first thing I noticed was the smell of dampness in the room. The carpet had burned marks all over it and stains and in places was missing carpet and built bar floor. The wallpaper was torn off the walls. The room was filthy dirty had not been cleaned and full of dust and dirt smoked disgusting so did the toilet and shower. "We were able to check the car into the carpark 2 hrs prior to our check in which was handy. Nice size room but the bathroom door which had transparent glass on the top was opposite the bed meaning to privacy whilst on the loo! The sash windows rattled and one would not lock so we had to ram a piece of cardboard down the side to stop the rattling noise. Comfy bed and pillows. The floorboards were the creakiest I've ever encountered so it was really difficult trying to get to the kettle to make...

"The room was large, clean and comfortable. The breakfast was tasty and the menu offered plenty of options. Staff were friendly and helpful. There was plenty of parking space."

"The service of the staff was excellent and car parking is free. However, the plug sockets next to the bed required moving the bedside tables, so if you want to use any electrical devices whilst in bed, you had to use the sockets across the room. The toilet positioned in the room were too close to the wall and the handles to open the windows were loose and call fall out anytime. "

"Great staff, clean and tidy room, good location with easy car parking. Great food including very good options for my coeliac wife. This is a quaint more traditional style of hotel with it seemed like only six rooms. You still get a room key attached to a fob rather than the key cards you tend to get nowadays and the flooring is a little sloped in places all adding to the charm. We had just a one night stop over but would be happy to return."
