Just 8 miles away is the historic town of Bury St Edmunds, described locally as ‘A Jewel in the crown of Suffolk’ and known as a foodie town. Its array of independent and high street shops will not disappoint. Take a stroll in the Abbey Gardens or explore the town by doing the town trail. Just over an hour away is the lovely Suffolk coast; Southwold is well worth a visit, offering something for everyone, all year round. With an extensive sandy beach, well known for its colourful beach huts lined on the promenade, lighthouse and glorious pier. Sampling the delicious fish and chips is a must.
