You’ll be 0.5 miles from Yoxall, an appealing village on the banks of the River Swarbourn, with two pubs, a corner shop and a characterful main street lined by timber-framed buildings and red-brick farmhouses. Take a walk along the towpath at Barton, Alrewas or Fradley (all within 6 miles). Whilst at Barton, visit the Marina and stroll around the lakes, admire and hire boats, browse independent shops or stop for food and drink. Jackson’s Bank (4 miles) is part of The National Forest and provides a lovely setting for wildlife spotting, especially when bluebells brighten its woodland in spring. The National Memorial Arboretum (7.5 miles) offers 150 acres of woodland and gardens to explore and hosts regular events. History lovers can explore Lichfield (8.5 miles) and its striking medieval cathedral. Birmingham (26 miles) brings world-class museums, galleries, music venues, independent eateries and excellent shopping.


Inside, the open-plan living space is lovely for relaxing with fellow guests, with its warm and sociable feel. Settle down in front of the Smart TV and wood burner-effect electric fire, play favourite music through the Bluetooth speaker or throw open the French doors for an easy flow onto the patio. The dining area is a comfy spot for shared breakfasts and evening meals, while the high-spec kitchen has everything you need for prepping quick snacks, packed lunches and celebratory dinners. Both bedrooms have their own en-suite facilities for excellent privacy: the first has a king-size bed, Freeview TV and en-suite shower room. The second has flexible zip-and-link single beds (2ft 6in) and an en-suite bathroom with a shower over the bath.


When the weather allows, step into the garden to admire beautiful views across the fields behind the cottage. The furnished decked area is ideal for morning coffee, al fresco meals or a quiet drink as the sun goes down.
