"This was the second time I stayed in the hotel, so I largely knew what to expect. The last time I’d stayed was pre-COVID. However, this time the room was musty with visible black mold on the bathroom walls and poor ventilation. It was also not as clean. The employees, cafe and van drivers were very nice. Sadly, while I enjoyed my trip the mold triggered my allergies and I was sticking the two following days."

First of all, the room smelled of mildew; normally you get used to the smell and don't notice it after some time, but that was not the case here. "We really loved our two nights day at Phil and Ann‘s. The rooms were clean. The air-conditioning worked great the staff was wonderful. The room was quite small but recently updated so everything was new. The beds were comfortable pillows were nice linens, spelt clean, and fresh. Love the little amenities on the property fire pits, basketball volleyball, badminton little putt putt, mini golf. We would definitely stay there again to enjoy a few days in Rhode Island."

If you are looking for 5 star HOTEL, this is not it, but if you want casual, safe, basic & welcoming, this IS it! You are in walking distance to restaurants, beach and very walkable. Very nice!"

"We have been going to Shelter Harbor Inn for decades. After its most recent renovations, the Inn is absolutely beautiful. The design of the inn is lovely. The grounds are stunning. And very importantly, the staff is excellent. There was some confusion re our check in and both the young woman who checked us in (Laci V) and the young woman who checked us out (Laci M) handled the situation perfectly. Sadly, we were only there for one night most recently but we will return."

"Got this as a gift for our anniversary. This is really a wedding venue and most folks seem to stay for the wedding and are up late and making noise and then out the next day. We had a 2 night stay - no room cleaning service for the price. We were just around corner from reception which doubles as a wine bar in afternoon, hangout in evenings and breakfast bar in am. Place is somewhat old and so you hear everything. At 10:45 when they are still chatting at wine bar and then when revelers come...

"One dude of the property is beside a fast food and ice cream bar and for some reason they play music extremely loud our first morning it was 8.45am the second morning was 8am it was quite disturbing and took away any tranquil feeling I had and wanted. Our third morning I don’t know what time they started as we left the night before so we could sleep in and not be woken by loud music. Our room number was 114 avoid it if you don’t like to hear loud music."
