We are a family of 4 from the US and have stayed in many VRBOs, so our review comes from that perspective. The GoodThe location is great—close to trains/streetcars, buses, and an Aldi for groceries. The unit itself was a good size for our family, and the rooftop balcony was the highlight of our stay. The smart TV worked well, and the host communicated clearly and even adjusted our dates before arrival. The BadThe walk up 4 flights of stairs - the narrow common area hallways and small staircases made carrying luggage difficult. The unit has a washing machine but no dryer, and the drying rack was too small for our needs. The UglyThe biggest issue was the heat inside the unit. We visited during a record-breaking June heat wave, and the unit has no air conditioning—only one small fan (not suitable for the full unit). We slept with windows wide open for airflow, but the street, train, and nearby college noise made it hard to rest. We were still sweating at 8pm with indoor temps reaching 87F. The black kitchen tile is very hot in the afternoons.Cleanliness was a big issue too. Floors were unswept, spills were on the floor and in the freezer, and many surfaces, drawers, and cookware were dusty or dirty. I cleaned the apartment upon arrival and notified the host. The unit also had a stagnant, vintage‑shop smell.OverallWe tried to look past the issues, but with kids and no way to cool the space, we left early. I would not recommend staying here during the summer months.
