Two story country pole frame barn with 2 queen bedrooms, 2 single beds in upstairs sitting area large undercover upstairs deck kitchen bathroom open plan living with combustion fire and outdoor campfire amongst the gum trees and native wildlife. See our resident Kangaroos It has the feel of being isolated. But its only 30 mins from vineyards 20 mins from Lake Macquarie10 mins from M1.
8km Mountain bike trail on the property .Family friendly
45 mins from Newcastle.

Tranquil Escape in the Bush

We had a wonderful stay at the bush cabin! The peaceful surroundings and beautiful natural setting made it the perfect spot to unwind. The cabin was cozy, clean, and had everything needed for a comfortable stay. We especially loved waking up to the sounds of wildlife in the morning. Highly recommend for anyone looking for a relaxing getaway in nature!

Garry & Jan, are wonderful hosts. The house is stunning with everything we needed. We all enjoyed relaxing around the indoor fireplace. In the evenings we especially liked toasting marshmallows around the outdoor fireplace. The location is great and easy to get to from M1 motorway. It is also an easy drive to lots of great local vineyards and the Hunter Valley gardens. We even visited Toronto on the lake for lunch. Thank you for a lovely time away.

So special!!

I actually donā€™t think the listing does justice to how beautiful this little retreat is! It has all the best parts of being out in nature but with all your creature comforts like a cosy fireplace, comfy beds, and a full kitchen. Thank you Jan and Garry! We canā€™t wait to come back :)

We had great time at Garryā€™s place! The wonderful house in the forest filled with amazing personal touches, board games and the fireplace made for an absolute pleasure of a stay! Kids loved a friendly dog who liked to visit us.

Easter Weekend Stay

It was wonderful to return again. We enjoyed our stay very much. This time we were able to put the Bomfire to use and roast marshmallows. The kids enjoy the bike trails and bushland ventures. Itā€™s beautiful and quiet with everything you need to enjoy a peaceful stay.

Peaceful bush location

I needed a ā€˜time outā€™ and this place was absolutely perfect. Private and peaceful, surrounded by stunning bushland, birds and wildlife. Walking trails have been thoughtfully created around the property, where you can stroll for hours. The accommodation itself is spacious and has everything youā€™ll need. Plenty of room inside, with a big enclosed deck upstairs, and front and rear verandas. I will definitely be back to this little gem!

Extremely Disappointing Stay ā€“ Urgent Feedback

We stayed there on December 28th. Although the road to the property was unpaved, the hosts were kind. However, from the very first day, we noticed several mice in the house. As a result, we had to keep all our dishes and luggage sealed, which made us feel uncomfortable. Despite our efforts, we couldnā€™t get rid of the mice because the house was full of inaccessible holes, allowing the mice to move around freely.On the second night, at around 4 a.m., while we were asleep, a mouse got into our bed, causing immense fear and panic. We were left with no choice but to pack up immediately and return home. This experience has left my wife and daughter with a fear of mice, and we will likely need to consult a psychologist for them.I can never recommend this place. Our money and holiday time were completely wasted in the worst possible way. I am deeply disappointed.

Comfort in the wild.

We were very comfortable and enjoyed our visit. Beautiful accommodation with bathroom downstairs. Well appointed, I loved the tea/coffee selection. Not the deafening cicadas so much. They did pipe down for our delicious barBQ. Thanks Garry

Family Getaway for Kids Birthday

Jan and Garry were the perfect hosts and their property is stunning. We stayed for 4 days for the kids birthday and had a great time. Everything was as described and the couldn't have been made feel more welcome. I would highly recommend a stay at this place. Fantastic place to stay

We had the most beautiful, relaxing few days away. The property was perfect for a relaxing break with our kids. Fire kept the cabin cosy and warm and we loved spending time in the evening cooking and playing board games. Although the weather wasnā€™t great it didnā€™t dampen the holiday, our kids loved riding in the puddles getting muddy and getting wet. Garry was awesome we arrived to the fire started in the late afternoon and his attention to his guests is wonderful, he even helped our boys with a few bike issues and made sure we had plenty of wood to keep warm. It was such a nice break away that we needed and weā€™d love to go back in spring or summer. Great location, great host and everything you needed.
