"My second stay here and the experience both times has been very similar. It is a stunning building in beautiful grounds. Some of the staff are really nice but some really couldn't care less. On this trip the gentleman on breakfast just barked "room number" when I approached. He didn't offer me any tea or coffee either - although I heard him offer someone else some. Maybe he forgot or maybe he didn't like the look of me. I also had a problem with the automatic blinds. They are remote control -...

"Room was great and we were able to park outside the door which was appreciated. Our evening main meal in the pub was very good as was the breakfast in the morning. Would recommend to anyone wanting a bub bed and breakfast. "

"The staff were fantastic very helpful and lovely to talk too and the room was beyond what I was expecting, beautifully clean lovely and warm the toilets were always clean and the shower was a walk in we absolutely enjoyed I stay and hopefully will be back next year. "Room was freezing cold, no heating on, kettle didn't work. They did offer to change our room but other room was also unheated. As check in is 2pm.We checked in at 4.40pm 14th Feb, room was icy cold. Hot water was temperamental. Room should have bern warm & water hot, Hubby had cold shower i gave that a miss.should be heated by then"

"I would like to ask for a full refund really but I know I won't get one. We were left in property on our own and told to lock up when we come and go. The sheets on the beds were dirty. Bathroom dirty. Tea and coffee in the room but no milk. We left at half 4 in the morning with little or no sleep at all. Terrible place "

"A clean and comfortable room with all we needed. Parking was convenient and staff were friendly and helpful. Also helpful having a restaurant on-site and it was just a short walk to the cathedral and other sites."

"Hotel is not fit to house a dog. Blood and semen on the bed, bed made out of wood, exposed electrics, shower door that doesn’t close. Half the building had pigeons flying around inside which we seen as we pulled up. All was reported to reception and asked for a refund, which was refused. We left and booked another hotel! After 2 hours of phone calls to hotels.com they agreed to refund for our booking. "

"A great bedroom in a house that's full of character. En-suite shower-room with a fabulous shower. Warm and welcoming hosts. Fantastic breakfast with seriously good vegetarian options. Go there! We certainly will again. "
