Get your check-in instructions prior to driving down into the holler, there is no service there and I had to walk up the road to get the check-in directions and was yelled at by a neighbor for walking along the road. It is a cute place with some issues, one of which was the hidden air fresheners that blow out chemical smells (I found them in the closets and removed them for my stay after hearing them squirt smells out all night the first night). Also, the cupboards smell strongly of rat pee (we used to have rats as pets, so I know that smell, these are not pet rats). Pests are going to happen so I understand, but the cupboards wreak of pee. The sliding door doesn't lock but there is a block in place and the 2 nights I was there it was quiet without any issues, felt safe. The hot tub is great but there was a film inside that felt like dead skin or something which was off-putting. I cleaned out the hot tub when I got there because it had pine needles and beetles floating in it and I was afraid to get charged extra in case someone thought it was me, so I spent time cleaning it out with provided net. The host area (garage) had lights left on, so I went out to see if I could shut them off, and the garage with all the stuff inside was open with all lights on, which freaked me out. I shut the lights off but didn't lock the door, and the next night, the lights were on again which told me someone was going in and out of there, I was uncomfortable with that also. The river is great.
