"A cosy guest house in walking distance to the main shops and boat cruises on Lake Windermere. Quiet location with good parking outside. Clean room and bathroom. Excellent breakfast and very friendly staff."
"We arrived in Windermere about 9pm and all restaurants was closed. We thought the hotel restaurant could be opened and we drove to the hotel. Our surprise was the hotel restaurant was closed!
When we told the recepcionist (Keneth), we had not have dinner yet he crossed the world to find something for us to eat. He called an chinese restaurant in a near city, ordered our food and prepared the bar with dishes, cutlery and all stuffs to us to eat. He was the best person ever in hotels to attend...
"The Tennyson Room (Room 5) was beautiful. The view was stunning, there were no irritations (wonky toilet seats, blown light bulbs, badly scratched paintwork etc.) at all. The receptionist was a great guy - good for a laugh and engaging. Breakfast excellent.
Believe me - we are coming back it was superb. I have no connections with this place at all. It was so much better than the top of the range place we stayed at in Anglesey 2 weeks ago and cost £70 less.

"Ideal picturesque setting looking over lake windermere. Food excellent both nights and excellent value. Good choice of wine. Walking around area and saw 2 deer, lots of baby rabbits. friendly helpful staff. Lovely building. pool jacuzzi perfect. "

"Room was a good size, upgraded from what we booked which was a nice surprise, we arrived early and checked if the room was ready which it was so again this was a bonus! No staff on site that we saw but didn’t really need anyone, free to come and go as we pleased and the property felt secure and safe we even left the patio doors open to allow fresh air in, perfect location. Quiet spot in walking distance of Ambleside pubs would definitely return. "
"A truly beautiful property. A very comfortable and relaxing stay. The breakfast was fantastic. Really nice touch that you could order a glass or bottle of wine to your room. A bed and breakfast stay with sheer glamour. "
