We are a small family run business and have proven our track record of positive experiences with guests. In the future, we are there to assist you in finding things to do in the area, we are the land of 44 lakes with the closest being less than 5 minutes away. The night you stayed, guests were able to see the Aurora Borealis nearby. We love helping people find things to do, or small businesses to visit. It's unfortunate you rated us a 1 as that affects our business. We also cannot control how friendly other guests are but if there is ever an issue, please call the number we provide for immediate assistance so we can ensure you are having a great stay.

Our building is a national historic 1854 family owned hotel, it has a brand new front porch, balcony, all of the hotel rooms are completely renovated and new. The building will forever need a seasonal wash and some paint but we take pride in our building and don't think this warranted a 3 star review.

Several instances took place during your stay. We graciously provided you with the opportunity for an early check in so you could attend the Dead + Company concert at SPAC. The first incident was when you arrived and went straight to your room, walked in and put your luggage on the bed while staff was still cleaning. Safety of our staff is of the utmost importance to us, at no point do we ever allow guests to enter a room while staff is working without their knowledge. You were given instructions to call to confirm you room was ready prior to checking in. It was Noon and the room cleaning was not yet completed as we were sold out and our check out is at 11 am. Our staff works extremely hard to provide meticulously cleaned rooms post check out which takes time. Normal check in is 3pm, although your room was not ready when you breeched it at Noon, we still provided you an early check in by 1:30pm. Secondly, you wrote 2 guests on your check in sheet, communicated over the phone it was 4 individuals with 2 staying the first night and then 2 staying the next night yet requested enough linens for 5 people after the first night. Honesty is the best policy.
