"Perfect location for attending the London Temple nearby. Restaurant upstairs was lovely and the food was delicious. The bed was very comfortable. The room temperature could have been cooler, but we had no thermostat in the room so we opened the ground floor window. "

"Beautiful room with almost everything you could wish for. My only gripe was the only mirror in the room to do hair and makeup was in the hall/alcove between bathroom and bedroom. Needed a mirror over the dressing table. However I always travel with an extension lead so I survived. Really would recommend."

"Lovely hotel. Staff very friendly and helpful. Swimming pool was beautiful and (when I was there) very quiet. There's also a small sauna and steam room, and a tiny (but perfectly formed) gym, Excellent breakfast selection, and again staff very helpful, even with late arriving guests. "Everything was great, the only small gripe I had was that it took a long time for the hot water to reach temperature for the shower, even using the electric boost option. Host was really helpful and room excellent and spacious for a solo traveller which was much appreciated."

"This property was like stepping back in time in the most beautiful of ways. The property is this beautiful old manor circa 1523 I believe. So quaint and the grounds were stunning. The food was delicious and the staff were a delight. "

"Clarissa, the new manager of the property, made our stay fun and easy! Our room even had its own patio! She sorted out dinner reservations and transportation so that our stay was flawless. Breakfast was delicious (and huge!), served exactly as we asked, enabling us to get on with our day. I highly recommend this property!"

The worst bed I have ever slept in

"I am writing to express my profound disappointment with my recent stay at your hotel. The bed was incredibly uncomfortable, making it extremely difficult to sleep and rest before my flight. As a frequent traveler, I have experienced a range of accommodations, but this was by far the worst. During my current trip in Europe, I have stayed at excellent hotels in Menorca, the Rafa Nadal Academy, London, Cote d’Azur at the Mouratoglou Hotel Resort, and soon the Royal Savoy Hotel Spa in Switzerland. Despite these varied experiences, my stay at Sofitel Gatwick was particularly disappointing. "
