"The owner was flexible with the check-in. We communicated in advance to ensure the logistics worked. On move in day, everything was smooth. The kitchen was fine. What was helpful is we had two kids with severe food allergies. We prepped their food in the backup kitchen to prevent cross contamination."

"Home suited our needs perfectly. Only suggestion would be to have some basic toiletries in the bathrooms, such as shampoo or bars of soap. The bedroom with the bunkbeds needs one or two small nightstands, so you can put a phone or bottle of water near the bed instead of on the floor. Ended up using a cardboard box as my table. But would definitely come back."

"Cute place which was comfortable and quaint and we used the indoor fireplace! Fishing didn’t pan out like others luck at all but we still enjoyed the cottage very much. Surprisingly quiet that weekend which was fabulous. Host was thoughtful and communicative and couldn’t ask for more in that regard. We usually stay in larger more secluded lake homes but this was so close to the Chicago Northshore (just over an hour) that the drive was a breeze. Close to town, the distillery, restaurants…...

"Cottage on the Canal did not disappoint! Grant was very reachable and made sure we had everything we needed. The house was very clean. There were plenty of activities to do, but just relaxing outside on the deck was wonderful. Grant even left a bottle of wine to greet us when we walked in. Highly recommend staying here!"
