"Superb spacious house, nice garden and decking. A beautiful red kite decided to give us a soaring display one evening :) The cottage is very close to the main A75 so it can be noisy while you're out in the garden. On the plus side, the location gives good travel access to all areas of D&G by bus and by car. Don't miss Threave Gardens - free motorised scooter available for people with mobility problems that would restrict their access to the gardens. "

"Really good value - everything that a small family needs for a break including a dishwasher! Lots of character with excellent views of the harbour and castle from the living room and bedroom on the second floor.Perfect for shops, cafes and galleries. Easy parking and a very pleasant neighbourhood to walk around day or night. Really appreciated the refreshments left for us by the host in the fridge on arrival. Would definitely return."

"The cottage was cosy and had everything we needed. A minor niggle, but it was a bit cluttered with cushions and throws in the sitting room - the throws just slid off the leather sofas and the cushions were too big and too many, so were surplus to requirements. The location suited us very well, with a host of lovely walks and places to visit nearby. We had a wonderful break and can recommend!"

"Beautiful Lodge in an idyllic setting, immaculate, clean and well stocked. Added bonus was the hot tub although the weather was exceptionally hot and a "cool tub" would've been amazing. Good location, easy for visiting Dalscone Fun Farm. Booked to return again soon. "

"Cottage was clean cosy and comfortable. It is about 15 mins drive to castle douglas. Owners live next door so easy to contact with minor issues. We were familiar with local area as visited frequently before."

"Cosy, well equipped cottage with a lovely view. Our elderly parents loved that they didn't have to go anywhere to enjoy the beach and they could get out for easy walks. With amenities just a few minutes drive away and local to wildlife viewing options this worked well for us. None of us were keen to leave."
