Overall, we enjoyed our stay- Breck is a great destination, and Crystal Peak Lodge is excellent for location and amenities. We’ve stayed there before and chose this location for those reasons.To be fair, the unit was very clean and is accurately described. Unfortunately, there were numerous shortcomings that will prevent me from renting again. Communication was, well, odd. Ross, the property manager, contacted me in the summer, numerous months ahead of my trip, which alarmed me bc I thought there was an issue with my reservation. He simply wanted to chat, something like “ to get to know you” or be proactive, I guess. I’ve never had this happen before- there was no issue to discuss, and I found it odd. We did a few text exchanges, and it never amounted to anything. Just odd.When I hadn’t got any updates with the usual procedures/ codes in the weeks or days prior to the trip in February, I reached out, and Ross promptly responded by saying that he had already sent this info…in October, which I don’t dispute. He kindly resent the necessary info immediately, but…who does that months ahead of time? Again, atypical for any Vrbo ( or similar) rental. No issues getting into the unit at all.Because we arrived on SuperBowl Sunday ( game started at 4:30 in CO mtn std time), we had worked out a reasonable early arrival check-in time that involved to cleaning crew for priority cleaning/ early arrival which I felt was fair.
