Camron Lodge by Mountain Vacation Lodging is a custom built log home, sitting at 11,465ft, that truly checks all the boxes. Enjoy sensational views of Quandary Peak and the Continental Divide from every window and the wraparound deck. Interior features include vaulted ceilings, exquisite woodwork, and high-end finishes to complement the breathtaking views. This home feels worlds away, but is only 12 miles from Breckenridge. It has a spacious floorplan that includes 3 large bedroom suites, a bunk bedroom, a great room, a rec room, and a bonus room. Outdoor spaces include that large wraparound deck, 2 upper level balconies, plus the lower level patio and yard. You can relax in the private outdoor hot tub. Hiking and recreation abounds all around, but simply spending time at this home is a real treat. Read on for more details.

The Property:
Camron Lodge is a large home, with 3 levels and over 4500 square feet. Check out the 3D tour to get a feel for the space. You enter on the main level, which includes a large bedroom suite, the great room, dining room, kitchen, and a deck that wraps around 3 sides of the home. The main level also includes a powder room, two entry areas, laundry, and a truly oversized garage. The kitchen, living room, and dining room flow together nicely. In the living room, the beautiful craftsmanship of this log home is on display. The massive center windows redefine the term "floor to ceiling" by truly starting at the floor and really bring the outdoors in. The massive log beams, hardwood floors, leather furniture, large HDTV, and stone fireplace make this a warm, inviting space. The kitchen is everything you could want. It has two sinks, a fridge with filtered water and ice, a beautiful gas range and oven with hood, as well as an island with barstools. It is large and fully equipped with everything you need to prepare gourmet meals. The dining room seats 8 comfortably and has access to the side of the wraparound deck which includes the gas grill and an outdoor dining table. The powder room opens to the kitchen as well as the foyer which improves access and flow on this main level.

On the west side of the main level is Bedroom 1. This main level bedroom suite includes a plush King bed, matching bedside tables, direct access to the deck, and a walk in closet. It's private bathroom has dual sinks, and the shower is a steam shower with dual heads and a bench. The upper level of the home has a landing that overlooks the great room. Bedrooms 2 and 3 are on opposite sides of this landing, creating privacy and a nice separation of spaces. Bedrooms 2 and 3 both have a Queen bed, vaulted ceilings, and a private balcony with incredible views. They each have their own private bathrooms which feature large vanities with stone counters as well as a bathtub and shower. Bedroom 4 is on the lower level. It is a large room that easily accommodates two bunk beds, with room to spare. The bunk beds are Twin beds over Double beds, so you have 2 Twins and 2 Double, making this room ideal for singles, kids, or even couples. The fourth full bathroom is just outside this bedroom, easy to access from the lower level's rec room.
The lower level rec room is a secondary living room with some great features. On one side of the room, you have a wet bar for serving drinks or apps as well as an HDTV with surround sound. Two full size sofas are positioned nicely to enjoy this home theater setup. On the other side of the lower living room is a table that is ideal for cards or board games. Right in the middle of the room are double doors that open to the patio, hot tub, and yard. Don't forget about the bonus room! This additional space is above the garage. A stairway between the kitchen and garage leads up to this space, which is very private and quiet. With a large desk and chair, it makes a great home office, and also has some armchairs, in case any kids or adults need a private place to relax.

Location:
The Camron Lodge is located 12 miles south of Breckenridge. It is very close to many trails and trailheads, including Quandary Peak, which is one of Colorado's "14ers." This location requires you to have your own vehicles, and we strongly recommend 4 wheel drive or all wheel drive vehicles with good tires year round, in all seasons. Keep in mind that this home is located at nearly 11,000 feet in elevation, so snowy icy road conditions are common, and snow showers possible even in summer. The neighborhood is just off highway 9, which is paved, plowed, well maintained. The neighborhood roads are dirt roads, and there are multiple switchbacks between highway 9 and the Camron Lodge.

Arrival, Access, and Parking:
Once you book, we're here to support you. We offer professional concierge services, provide you with arrival instructions, and answers to any specific questions you might have. Accessing this property requires only 1-2 steps to enter the main (middle) level. Parking is no problem here. The 2 car garage is oversized, and there is outdoor parking for more vehicles. Trailers are possible but not recommended, particularly from October through April, given the possibility of adverse road conditions and the roads leading to the home.

** Property Notes:

** Please note that the town of Breckenridge is around 10,000 feet in elevation and this home sits at over 11,000 feet. If this is your first time visiting this altitude, please be aware of the symptoms of altitude sickness and how to avoid it. In general, staying very hydrated, avoiding alcohol, taking OTC headache medicines and supplementing with oxygen cans when necessary, can help to alleviate symptoms you might experience. If you live at a low elevation, it is suggested that you spend one or more nights in Denver or somewhere with a similar altitude (around 5000 feet) to acclimate, prior to coming up to Breckenridge.**

** The home is located off of a well maintained dirt road, but there are steep curves and ice, snow, or rain will cause problems for 2wd cars, especially those with rear wheel drive. Four Wheel Drive or All Wheel Drive plus tires with good tread are strongly recommended and may be required anytime snow or rain are possible. Chains may be required to access this property during or immediately following snowstorms. **

** Air Conditioning - Most mountain resort properties were not built with air conditioning. During most hours of the day and weeks of the year, AC is not needed. Summer nights are cool and fans are provided at most properties. Check the average high and low temperatures and weather forecast for your dates of travel, and look at the list of amenities to see if AC or fans are part of the rental property and look for ceiling fans in photos.

If you plan to bring more people than you've indicated, more dogs than indicated, to host a party or event, or do not intend to respect neighbors or the value and quality of the property, then this is not the place for you, and you should not book the property. Security cameras and noise monitoring devices are an example and demonstration that the property's owners are taking steps to ensure the home remains available for rental, and in good condition, for your benefit. ** Cleaning Fees & Lengthy Rental Periods - The standard cleaning fee quoted as part of any booking is for the final cleaning, which is to be performed after the rental period has ended. Mostly great

The check-in, the cleanliness, the location...all of that was great. Directions on how to use the electronics (mainly the TV's) would have been nice. The big issues were the fireplace and back door lock. The lock didn't work, and there were no directions on how to use the fireplace. Back and forth texts on how to get the fireplace to work was tedious. We never got it to work even with the directions we were told. Glad it wasn't the middle of winter and we had enough clothes to keep us warm inside the house. Overall, not a bad place to stay.

Disappointing Stay

We stayed at this property over a long weekend, and while we enjoyed our time in Breck, we left this cabin feeling unsatisfied. When we first arrived, we noticed issues right away. The fireplace was not working and there was a blue tarp over the door of one of the private balconies upstairs. The guest services team shared that the door was broken by a previous guest and would be fixed after our stay. We were disappointed that we were not notified of this before we arrived. We also spoke with the homeowner and learned that the fireplace is unreliable. I wish the fireplace hadn’t been advertised in the listing if it does not dependably work. Outside of these major issues, we struggled with little things: lights in multiple rooms flickered, there was a burner on the gas stove that did not light, and the toilet in the basement leaked a small amount of water which resulted in another call to the property management team. It also felt unkept in many ways: multiple cobwebs and spiders, the linens in the primary bedroom had spots and did not smell clean, the cover on the chair in the main living area is dirty. None of these things were major but I expect more from a rental that costs thousands of dollars. It’s a shame…the bones of the home are beautiful and the views were great, but I cannot recommend anyone stay here in good faith. It was a really disappointing experience.

Fantastic Stay!

We recently stayed at this property for a weekend getaway and it exceeded all our expectations. From the drive up the snowy mountain and into this beautiful home, the location is stunning with breath taking views of the surrounding snow covered mountains. The interior was impeccably clean and beautifully decorated. The owners thought of everything! The management staff provided great communication with quick responses. We took advantage of using some of the companies the management staff has teamed up with such as portable oxygen, ski/snowboarding rentals and a private chef which came with a discounted rate. We will definitely being staying here again. Highly recommend to anyone!

Great views!

The house is in a beautiful location. The mountain views were amazing. The house was extremely clean and stocked. Located close to Breckenridge, Hoosier Pass and Quandry Peak. We even saw snow on one of the mountains in the early morning. Unfortunately my husband got altitude sickness bad and couldnt recover so we had to leave 2 days early and go to lower elevation. Highly recommend.

Very disappointing - avoid this property!

Our stay was quite disappointing, as was the lack of assistance received by the property managers. Several calls made to the property managers were never returned. We made requests to be moved to a different home, because were so disappointed...promises were made to look into what could be done...the managers didn't call back. House issues: Non functioning grill Non functioning fireplace Water back up and smelly in Primary Shower Expired food in refrigerator and cabinets Unflushed toilets and dirty bathrooms when we arrived Broken recliner in the Living Room Broken furniture on the deck Deck peeling and needed maintenance Sofa in living room very dirty and old Stove and oven very dirty and greasy

Beautiful Property, Away From Town

The property was exactly as advertised! Plenty of space to spread out, yet felt like home with all of the amenities provided. The kitchen is amazing... and there were even plenty of games and activities available to provide things for all to do. The property is located about 15-20 minutes from town, but allowed the opportunity to separate from the hustle and bustle of downtown when we weren't busy skiing. Few minor issues with the property itself, but when brought to the attention of the management company they quickly responded and had the issues addressed. Thanks again for making our trip to Breck one the entire family will never forget!

Winter Wonderland

This was such a beautiful property with very beautiful views. All the rooms are very spacious. Kitchen and bathrooms were abundantly stocked. Living/gathering room also had plenty of games, puzzles, cards and other toys suitable for everyone. It was definitely a plus to have a living room for ourselves (adults) and a living room solely for the kids. We absolutely loved seeing the Fox run around in the back yard. We would definitely stay here again. This property is close to town, yet still has a quiet secluded feeling.

Great Place

This was by far one of the nicest places that we have stayed out. It was very clean and furnished well. Had a small issue the property management people we on it right away. As some people have mentioned this house does sit at 11,500FT. That is measured off the back deck. So it is up there, but it is spectacular!

Great house in beautiful area

Beautiful home high in the mountains. Important that you acclimate before arriving, though. Set at 11,400 high, you will definitely feel the altitude if you come from sea level or haven't spent a bit of time at 9,000 in Breckenridge before. Such great amenities here -- games, hot tub, nice bedrooms and a super kitchen full of spices and condiments. We really enjoyed our stay!

Fantastic vacation home

House very well furnished with furniture, games and books. Kitchen had absolutely everything you need to make any meal. Wrap around deck has amazing views. With the game room downstairs and office above the garage, the home is much larger than it appears in the ad. Note the distance from downtown Breckenridge is a 15 min drive and elevation of 11,000 ft versus 9600 ft in town.
