"Perfect in every way! The house was spotless and had everything we needed. It's situated approx 7 mins away from town in one direction, so you can leave the car on the drive, (a major plus) and 10 mins walk away from the woods in the other: ideal for an early morning, or any time dog walk! There's a hose in the garden for dirty boots and dogs and the back gate locks for security. Heating was easy to adjust and the fire worked beautifully. The TV was easy to operate and the Wifi was fab!...

"There was an infestation of sewer flies in the downstairs of the property, perhaps due to a food recycling bin. Tiles in the bathroom had moldy grout. The walls were grimy. We have photos. Altogether, it had a dirty feel which is not what one expects for the premium price."

The space to eat and the kitchen pictured are not exclusively part of the booking, and are shared with multiple other rooms. The kitchen is not well equipped even for making tea/coffee with no mugs, cups or glasses available or even washing up liquid. "For a quick one nighter it was fine. The cooker could do with a revamp or replacing, but otherwise it was adequate, if a bit pricey. But maybe 'cause it's Reading, the Home Counties, that's the rate..."
