Florida Family Retreat

Nestled in a quiet, private neighborhood in Navarre, FL, this 4 bedroom home offers room for the entire family to enjoy while visiting beautiful sunny Florida. Navarre Beach is only a 10 minute drive, Pensacola Beach and downtown Pensacola are only 30 minutes, and there is a small private beach on Santa Rosa Sound only a short walk to the end of the street. Enjoying the beach and several other attractions in the area I'd easy to do, but leaving the crowds and returning to this lovely home is the true magic of visiting this property.

Property was disgusting. Abandoned, garage open with trash. Old vehicle and trailer blocking driveway. As soon as you walk in house you smell the dirty abandoned smell. No cleaning, dirty home. Leaks on walls. Undone beds with hairs and stains, possibly bugs. Holes, BIG holes in the house. Dead animal on door. Trash in restrooms with toilet paper!!! This place is dirty, unsafe, and not habitable to stay in. Complete rip off and scam. We ended up leaving right after walking in for the sake of our children. Property owner will laugh in your face when called and refuse a refund and VRBO will not do ANYTHING about it. If I could post pictures to show I am not exaggerating at all I would. PLEASE SAVE YOURSELF YOUR HARD WORKING MONEY and STAY AWAY. Worst experience ever.

DO NOT STAY HERE!! BUGS IN BEDS/MOLD ON COMFORTERS

Before we arrived at the property I was called by the owner, he stated that the garbage disposal was broken and one of the rooms that had a bed in it was locked accidentally, he couldn't find the key. He stated that the house cleaners were coming, and a handy man would be coming to fix the disposal and “break into” the locked bedroom so that we would have a place for all 8 of us to sleep. Three adults and 5 children, he was made aware of that. When we arrived, the handy man had not come, and the door still had not been unlocked. I called the owner he said he would call and make sure that the handy man would be at the house soon. We did not stay at the house, nor did we inspect it. We left to take the kids to the beach. Five hours later when we returned the handy man had not come and the door to the bedroom still was locked. When I called the property owner again, he stated that the handy man would not be coming and that we were just going to have to make do with what we had. Upon inspection of the made beds, we found bugs under the sheets and on pillows, mold on the comforters and dirty showers. The health and safety of our children were priority we did not stay. We were forced to drive late at night to find a hotel to sleep all 8 of us. When I informed the owner we would not be staying at the house, he proceeded to send me messages well into the night via the Vrbo app. Vrbo did not and will not issue a refund and neither will the property owner.

It was fairly priced considering I was in town for Memorial Day. It’s a short drive to the beach, and provided plenty of space for my family to sleep.

Do not stay!

The smell of cigarette smoke is overwhelming! We booked this as a last min option because we had additional family that wanted to join our trip that our condo could not accommodate(we split up half the family in the condo half in this house). The house was disgusting! We arrived around 5:30 and the cleaning lady was still there along with a shirtless man laying on the couch. She told us to come back in an hour that they had just had a party and were not done cleaning yet. An hour later still not ready and she told us to just put the sheets on the beds ourself. They have attempted to turn the garage into a bedroom but it does not get any AC they literally have a box fan on the floor. The towels are nasty, the fridge and counter tops have old spilled food and crud on them. The house is just gross. The half if the family that was staying in the house left early because it was just so nasty. The owner is responsive but does not give you any information. I had to text him and ask about the code the get into the house, what the check in/out procedures are. He did offer to bring a new AC filter when complaining about the smell of cigarettes but it would not have done any good. DO NOT RENT THIS PLACE!

Family friendly

The host was helpful with recommendations and he fixed a couple things after I mentioned it, and let me know when he’d be by for that and furniture delivery also. Family friendly for my kids and I. Quiet neighborhood and just a short 10 minute drive from the best beach in Florida!

Last Family Vacation

Although the house is a bit dated and needs a few minor repairs, the homeowner is very personable and will respond immediately. We had an awesome time on our vacation. My Mom is 83 and has dementia/Alzheimer's. Her sister's stayed with us. They are 86 and 89. It was a wonderful trip. Sadly, it will be the last.

Beautiful property

This is a beautiful property that has ample space and restrooms. Overall a great location with many amenities. The main bathroom does have a finicky toilet and a tub with a hot water handle that leaks. Ice machine, mini fridge and primary grill all out of order; however, a replacement grill that was tricky to get the broilers to work was provided as an alternate. We had a great time and enjoyed our time there.

Horrible!

We pulled up and couches were outside, white men with no shirt on & had dirt all over them were in the house and backyard. The bed was by the water heater in the garage, kitchen was dirty and backyard patio wasn’t even in the ground it was torn apart.

This house was terrible. The pictures didn't show the stained pillows that you were supposed to lay your heads on. There was a old mattress standing near the water heater in a bedroom that used to be part of the garage. The fridge was filthy and falling apart. The front door couldn't be locked from the outside when you left. Dust everywhere. I told my kids not to touch nothing. The back yard was dangerous and had not been kept up. The patio was awful. We never slept there for fear of possible bed bugs. We called and asked for our money refunded and was refused. We ended up getting a hotel for our vacation instead. We are debating on a possible lawsuit. DO NOT RENT THIS PROPERTY!!!

You Guys Should Really BOOK IT!!!!

Process was fast great and easy going. Property owner called to see what time we planned on coming in. He was very polite and nice. The house was very nice and didn't smell of bleach at all. It didn't smell, it didn't look like a crime scene or smell of one the house is in a great neighborhood. Great job Mrs Leonard and Son The Stay was AWESOME will definitely book again!!!

House not clean nor ready to be rented

Showed up to property after 11:30PM with the owner still cleaning. Took a quick tour and was overwhelmed with the smell that a pet had been present recently. Owner told me to come back in 30 minutes or we could stay while they cleaned. We left to rent a hotel as we had traveled 7 hrs to get there and my wife, kids and I could not wait any longer. Received a text but no call at 12:40 that you room was ready. Overall condition of the house was very dated. Cleanliness was absent. I simply call would have saved us much money and headache. Seemed that the host was only in it for the money and did not care for us. Buyer be ware on this one. I would not wish our experience on anyone like we had.

Do NOT BOOK this smelly, roach infested garbage of a property.

We booked this place, thinking that it will be like the pictures. Upon our check in we were greeted by un unsuitable super strong bleach smell, that would make you think of a crime scene. Than there were roaches droppings everywhere, which is indicative of a major infestation issue. Once we came into the kitchen there were roaches roaming freely everywhere including the dishwasher and a few dead in the fridge and the freezer. Also the freezer had busted drawers left just at the bottom crashed. The stove had some old over cooked and rotten food inside. That looked like it has been there for ages. Moving on we found mold in the bathrooms and more roaches roaming free willy, the outside furniture was a mess and dirty also. The beds were probably recycled from the street by the garbage. The bedding was a total disaster too, probably from garbage pile also. DO NOT DO NOT DO NOT WASTE YOUR TIME, energy and money on this dump!!! I am still fighting for my money back... We left the house immediately and had to stay at a hotel.
