We spent the month of February at Tranquil Lakeview Casita. When we arrived Robert and Lisa where there to greet us and show us to our Casita. The next day Robert came over and was very helpful in suggesting some things to visit and restaurants that were good. Other than that they both respected our privacy. The Casita was just like the pictures and the kitchen was well stocked with everything a cook would need. We couldn't get over the well kept gorgeous grounds with the amazing flowers and the view of Lake Chapala. Also, I thoroughly enjoyed meeting Tessie, Robert's friendly pup as she had such the personality! We will always remember Robert and Lisa's wonderful hospitality and hopefully one day will be able to return. Barb and Gord

Our favourite parts of our one month stay was the beautiful yard and view from the big picture window, and the very kind, responsive and friendly hosts. The casita has a traditional Mexican feel, including the decor and a few quirks. Both bedrooms have only a curtain on the door to the main area. It was very beautiful to sit on the landing and enjoy the amazing weather, view and peacefulness of this spot. The Raquet Club community was very welcoming. We enjoyed pickleball, salsa dancing class, a dance and some tennis.

Excellent stay

Robert suggested restaurants that were very good. Especially Viva Mexico! The stay was enjoyable. The flowers in the yard are beautiful! The Racket Club is a nice area to be in!

Peaceful & Tranquil As Advertised

I spent 15 peaceful and relaxing days thanks to the graciousness of the owners of the beautiful home and casita, Robert & Lisa. I've travelled Mexico for 43 years, it was one of the most peaceful and relaxing vacations of all. The casita is bigger than the pictures make it seem. It is like a nice small home, the view out the huge floor to ceiling window is beyond compare, the kitchen is stocked with everything a cook could want. The property is high on the hill giving it an amazing view across the lake, as well as a quiet peaceful solitude. The owners made sure I had everything I needed at the same time as giving me privacy the whole stay. It's Mexico, you have to accept the small differences and what may seem to be an inconvenience or less than luxury standards, they are far outweighed by the beauty of the landscape and the people and their culture. It's not the USA. Tessie the golden retriever will also welcome you with open paws! I hope to return soon. I love the country, the area, and it's a blessing to have expats like Robert and Lisa sharing their beautiful property.

Well first the positive, the view is fantastic. You absouletly need a car here. It cost approximately $60 canadian per day with full insurance. When we arrived the host Robert met us. He is a nice man. This is way over priced, over $100 canadian per night and you have to rent one week min. Very bad location. We were told to conserve water, or they might run out, they got some kind of new hot water system and you can't have a shower very easy, the pressure is a drizzel and runs rusty for the first minute. I had to wash my hair in the sink because the pressure can't get my hair wet enough to soap up,never mind rinsing it. The place was really dirty except for the floor. It definitely is not sanitized like advertised. The fridge had bugs and I don't know what in it, the microwave was filthy. All the light fixtures are full of bugs. They only supply clean sheets and 2 small towels every 2 weeks. The tv is not shaw cable as advertised , Netflix works well. The pool cost $100 pesos each person. They did supply 2 passes each for a 9 night stay. The pool is about half a km. away and quite the walk back. The beds are double size one is soft the other very hard. The sheets are good but the blankets are old and stained. The furniture is uncomfortable and really showing its age, the stuffing falls out of the sofa when you sit on it. Robert did warn us that the spiders were not poisonous Robert left some spray. I killed about 40 spiders in a 9 night stay. Very disappointed

Wonderful hosts

Quintessential, small casa on a beautiful properly overlooking Lake Chapala. Best part of the stay were the hosts, Robert and Lisa. Helpful, gracious, no nonsense and lovely people. Absolute bonus was bonding with their beautiful golden, Tessee. Sweetest pup ever. Thank you Robert, Lisa and Tessie.

A nice getaway

Stayed here for a week. The property is bright and airy with magnificent views overlooking Lake Chapala. Rooms are spacious and the hosts are friendly and accommodating. The only draw back is that it is pretty much impossible to walk anywhere. You need a car or a friendly taxi driver to get around. Lisa and Robert provide several taxi service phone numbers.

Wonderful view but no outside patio or lounging area. A large number of steps or stairs in navigating ingress and egress. Nice thermal pool at clubhouse.

Great Location/Views

Cute casita hosted by a gracious couple who were very helpful. When our rental car reservation fell through, Robert and Lisa arranged for a rental, at an even better rate than we had booked! The casita is located in a nice development, secure and private and very quiet, especially in the evenings. Great views of the lake and surrounding mountains, yet easy access to local restaurants and facilities. Thank you!

Gorgeous Views, Light and Bright, Lovely Place

Raquet Club is beautiful, and this casita has stunning views. The owners were very accommodating and available. If you don't like a hard mattress, bring along a mattress topper for one of the beds. The other bed was fine. This casita is a short walk to the Vita Bella restaurant and spa.

Inspiring

The hosts were nicely supportive, yet giving us space to enjoy. The location could not have been any nicer. It is located in a very upscale subdivision with a Racquet Club. To your back, very close, are mountains. Some houses are even cut into the mountains to make room for them. And to the front is a magnificent view of the lake and distant mountains. The distant mountains even showed some natural wildfires, common for the dry season just weeks before the rains. The casa is hundreds of feet above lake level. The Casa itself is like a large comfortable living room with two attached upper level, open walled, bedrooms. These are connected by a jack and Jill bathroom. The view was inspiring. The kitchenette and all or more than enough for a nice comfortable stay. The location is very peaceful and very secure. You would be only a few miles away from the popular towns and cities along the lake. But a hidden gem is right at your feet. San Juan Cosala is an authentic Mexican village. Do not pass up the restaurant of Viva Mexico. We felt that all our plates were of gourmet quality. The cuts of lamb and beef, and their preparation, couldn’t be better. All these at very affordable Mexican prices. And for those of you who have some spirit in your soul. The town church is very memorable. The devotion to Catholicism is incredible. A medium size church with eight services on Sunday. And even in those afternoons The church was full. Yet more testaments to the Mexican culture of devotion to family and church. Our hosts definitely advised us right on different issues especially the rental of a vehicle....... do not trust the airport rentals....... If you can’t tell by now. We really enjoyed our stay.

Terrific lake Chapala view in gated community. Wonderful opportunity to play on beautiful clay tennis courts or just enjoy Mexico. Best meals ever! Easy rental car arrangement . Robert and Lisa most helpful. Don’t hesitate.

Tranquil Paradise with Amazing View

I had a delightful stay in the spacious and bright Casita overlooking the lake and the mountains. Quiet place to retreat to after a busy day. I appreciated the racquet club facilities including a well stocked library. The hosts, Robert and Lisa, were friendly and helpful! They even provided food in the fridge, which was needed after a long day of travel. Kitchen was well-equipped. I would stay here again!👍
