"We enjoyed our stay at the Cascade Lodge! We loved the close proximity to Lake Superior and their private shoreline! We also ate at the restaurant and it was great-food and staff friendliness! There was even live music on the night we were there."

"We had a great experience at the Stay Inn Ely. It was clean and our room was nice. It’s conveniently close to down town Ely and has easy access parking. The kitchen was well equipped and had coffee to make every morning. We enjoyed our stay and would recommend it!"

"We stayed in the Chickadee cabin. It is a pretty new cabin and very nicely appointed kitchen. However, the description on Expedia is a bit off. It says it’s a “lake view” cabin. It is not. It’s a short walk to the lake. It also said it had a queen bed, but it has a queen bed in the bedroom plus a twin bunk bed in the hallway and two twin mattresses in the loft, so basically it can sleep six people. Two other cabins are basically the same layout. These are really nice cabins. Sparrow and Nuthatch...

"The view was wonderful, and the staff was very helpful. There was a smoky odor in the room, either from the fireplaces in the other units or from the firepit outside. The floor plan of the bathroom in the third-floor room was odd. The open door blocked the sink. We had a little trouble figuring out the A/C controls, so the room was a little too warm. We greatly appreciated the free EV charging stations. They were never ICEd while we were there. We underestimated how tiring the 32 stair steps...

"Staff was great, our room didn’t have a remote so they had to bring us a new tv and the heat lamp in the bathroom wouldn’t shut off.. there was also beard hairs in the bathroom sink from previous guests and change lost in the bed so not sure how good the cleaners do. Overall, I would stay there again!"

"Clean but very outdated. Leaky bathtub faucet and the bathtub and sink did not drain quick enough so filled with water. Overhead lights did not turn on. Carpet was clearly very old and windows were either missing screens or tricky to open. Bed was comfortable. Staff was nice. Breakfast was simple but was enough."

"Eat at the restaurant at the hotel. It was the best. I’ll never have better north woods biscuits and gravy. Chicken tenders, burgers, fries, ribs, chicken parm were also all so good. It was great."
