Enjoy the night life on the Semois thanks to the unique lighting. La Semois et moi is a unique Ardennes rural villa for 6 people in a quiet, green and wooded valley of the Semois river. You have direct access to the Semois river. From the terrace, from the living room and from 2 bedrooms you can enjoy the rippling water, ducks, swans, fish, kayakers.
The Space: Fishing directly from the garden. To further enhance the quality of your stay, we carried out an extensive renovation from the beginning of 2019. We look forward to welcoming you to the fully renovated villa with a larger and open living space, two bathrooms, extensive terrace, modern sleek kitchen. Sustainability was also strong: double glazing, insulation of floors and roof, new electricity, water and heating installation, home automation for efficient management.
Via the wireless internet throughout the house and on the terrace you can listen to your favorite music via the TV or your smartphone thanks to the Spotify app. We offer you the utmost comfort: WiFi, internet TVs (Netflix, Spotify, YouTube ...), SONOS sound system, Proximus TV, luxury bed and bath linen, kitchen linen, comfortably furnished terrace, fixed charcoal barbecue.
The open living space is pleasantly and attractively furnished. A modern style combined with typical Ardennes accents. The TV corner is equipped with widescreen internet smart TV (with apps such as Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, internet browser ...), with a SONOS surround system, USB connection, Proximus TV and radio (Flemish, French, English, ... TV & radio channels).
The adjacent, yet separate dining area has a beautiful square table with 6 to 8 spacious seats for a delicious dinner. The sleek white kitchen is equipped with every comfort: in addition to dishes, glasses, pots and pans, there is a dishwasher, fridge, freezer, gas stove with oven and extractor, coffee maker & Senseo, toaster, kettle and microwave. A washing machine, tumble dryer, ironing board, iron and drying rack are also at your disposal.
The garden adjoining the Semois with the spacious terrace is equipped with a table for 6 people, a lounge set, a parasol and 2 sun beds. Shaded nets make the terrace extra pleasant. The terrace is fenced, the garden is not. There are extra garden furniture available that you can place in the garden. You can use a fire bowl. There is a fixed charcoal barbecue adjacent to the terrace. The house has three bedrooms, in total for six people; the beds are covered with duvets, 2 pillows per person and fine bed linen (2 double beds and 2 single beds). Two rooms are equipped with an internet smart TV (with apps such as Netflix, Spotify, YouTube, internet browser ...).
There are 2 bathrooms. The bedroom on the ground floor has a connecting bathroom equipped with toilet, sink and walk-in shower. On the first floor is a second bathroom with toilet, washbasin and bath-shower combination. There is a guest toilet on the ground floor.
The villa is heated by gas central heating, a built-in wood stove provides extra warmth and coziness through the open living space. The roof and floor plate are highly insulated, there is double glazing throughout the entire house. All technical installations have been renewed at the beginning of 2019.
Private parking for four cars.
Pets are NOT allowed (a small dog can exceptionally be allowed after clear agreement).
The Neighborhood: The villa is located deep in the Belgian Ardennes, on the edge of the picturesque village of Rochehaut (Bouillon), in the Laviot valley on the banks of the Semois. Rochehaut offers you a renowned view of the classified village of Frahan, nestled in a meander of the Semois.
Laviot is a hamlet of Rochehaut situated in a meander of the ever-winding Semois, amid the all-embracing, wonderful nature of the Luxembourg Ardennes.
Not only those who seek tranquility and want to immerse themselves in enchantingly beautiful landscapes will be in their element in Rochehaut, but this village is also an ideal place for those who enjoy brisk walks and all kinds of sporting activities.
Moreover, Rochehaut is very popular with gourmets because of the culinary high-quality regional dishes.
In the vicinity are among others. Rochehaut with its notorious view of Frahan (classified village in a twisting of the Semois), Bouillon, Alle, La-Vresse-Sur-Semois, Bohan ... villages that are all worth seeing.
The shopping city of Sedan with its 'chateau' just across the French border is also nearby. The French champagne town of Reims is a 1.5-hour drive away.
Getting Around: The holiday residence will certainly offer you the required rest and relaxation. If you still want to spend your vacation more actively, there are plenty of options: Possibility of fishing from your garden (permit required). In the neighborhood you can also rent kayaks, mountain bike quads.
It is an excellent base for adventurous walks, VTT through the woods. Walking and cycling maps are available at the Tourist Office in Vresse and Rochehaut.
For the more adventurous: survival trips, white water rafting, abseiling, droppings by helicopter, cave visits, and other team building activities: Semois Aventure!
Trips to points-de-vues, children's farms, animal parks (with or without a train), castle, castles, caves ... can certainly fill your day.
In the vicinity lies "La Fange de l'Abîme", a nature reserve with rich fauna and rare vegetation. The botanical garden of Gedinne is also worth seeing, a hundred tree species are kept on a domain of 10 hectares. There is a "Bison Ranch" in Orchimont and you will find yourself in the American Wild West era.
The Récréalle (a small recreation center) in Alle-sur-Semois is within cycling distance. Open 7 days a week in high season.
For gourmets, you will certainly find the restaurant that has passed you by (including delicious game menus during the hunting season). Of course, the nice cafes and taverns should not be forgotten!
