"Brandlehow is the perfect place to relax and refuel. The location is superb, nestled in the woodlands and on the shores of Derwentwater. Most days began with a coffee overlooking the lake, watching the sunrise and the cloud disperse. Beautiful walks from the doorstep and of course a lot of kayaking right from the door. The water levels were incredibly high when we arrived so couldn't make the best use of the launches as we have in the past but enjoyed a trip later in the week. The footpath...

"We had a great week’s stay at Swallows Lodge with our cocker spaniel. Plenty of communication prior to our arrival made it easy to find and access, the property is spacious (especially so for just two of us!) and well laid out. The full kitchen had everything you'd need, the property was spotlessly clean and modern, and the bed big and comfortable. Undoubtedly the highlight is the view through the large bifold doors across Derwentwater, absolutely fantastic. And if you fancy a change of scenery...

"Spacious property, within walking distance of town. Did report that bins were overflowing outside with black bags piled high both on the floor and on top of the bins on two occasions (appeared bins had not been cleared for weeks). Some areas of 5he property were a little dusty otherwise clean.
The kitchen is rather small for a property of its size making it a bit difficult to have more than one person using it at a time, and bath a bit tight to get in/out of.

"We have been coming to the lakes for many years, and thie Duke of portland is by far our favourite place to stay....and it's just not down to it's location alown, it's the attention to detail, it's the Decor inside...its absolutely stunning....the owners should be extremely proud of what they have achieved with his property......"

Keswick Cottages always achieve the highest standards in all their properties that we have used.
