"Highland Dell is a lovely old lodge overlooking the beautiful Russian River. The host were friendly and helpful. The bed is very comfortable. I highly recommend dining at the restaurant. Our schnitzel was excellent and the house-made apple strudel is unsurpassed! I keep thinking about it. The breakfast included with the room is the best, by far, I have had at a hotel. Try the pastries. The rooms are VERY small, but nice, like in the old days when people didn't have as much stuff. Get over it....

"We had a restful stay at Occidental Lodge. Staff was very kind and welcoming upon arrival. Room was clean and beds were very comfortable, photos are an accurate representation. We'd recommend getting a room on the second floor as we had one on the lower floor and could hear the footsteps of the guests above us. "

"If you want to try glamping this is a nice location to do it. The area is far enough away to be rural with only a few blocks walk to downtown and great places to eat. One recommendation I would have for the location. Is to go over the rules of the property with everyone and provide a phone number when there is an issue. Our night we had drunk people playing music and talking loudly until 3am. This is not the fault of the facility rather the rudeness of the other guests. We told their staff the...
