Living, Art & Leisure in a Quiet Location
After a little over two years, we’re still thrilled to be renting out our vacation apartment :-) A lot has happened since then, especially in the garden
, so I’m finally going to post some new photos.
The details and prices remain the same:
We chose Derenburg as our new home a few years ago. This small town is located between Wernigerode, Blankenburg, and Halberstadt and is about a 10-minute drive away.
You can also set out on beautiful bike rides from here—we ourselves are often out on our mountain bikes and keep discovering new, fascinating landscapes and historic sites...
Since we’re quite creative and sports-loving ourselves (age-appropriate, of course)
, we’d also like to offer others the chance to
discover something new.
We look forward to seeing you :-)
Here’s a brief summary of what you can expect from us ;-)
ACCOMMODATIONS:
The 65-square-meter, quiet attic apartment
offers plenty of space and sleeping accommodations for 2 people and a toddler (see baby bed)
You can park in the large courtyard, right in front of the vacation rental.
COSTS:
Included in the price is a linens package (towels & bed linens)
which is always washed with a sanitizing detergent.
The cleaning fee is 50.- €
PETS: Your four-legged friend / dog is also very welcome here
.
Unfortunately, cats are no longer allowed to stay here
.
If you would like to bring a pet,
please always check with us in advance.
The cost per dog / night
is 5 .- €.
TOURIST TAX: €2.50 per adult per day,
€1.25 for children ages 7 and up,
You can pay these fees on site,
and we will forward them accordingly.
Now let’s talk about what else we can offer you....
RELAXATION IN THE GARDEN:
In this little oasis, where wild herbs are allowed to grow freely.
there are several places to sit and relax after a
long hike or similar activity.
There’s also an outdoor kitchen with running water and a unique,
very cozy little restroom :-)
We’re currently working on the outdoor shower...
Our idea behind these amenities is
that cyclists can also pitch their tents here.
ROOF TERRACE:
If you’re looking to get up high, the approximately 25-square-meter roof terrace offers the perfect spot to soak up the sun.
RV PARKING SPACE:
Under an old, rustic chestnut tree, there’s space for an RV with direct access to the garden. Since we enjoy traveling in our own RV,
we’re always on the lookout for unique spots like this.
That’s why we’d like to offer one ourselves.
The cost per day, including electricity, is €25.
ART:
In the studio (located below the vacation apartment)
, you can discover and express your own creativity.
Sandstone sculptures, tree, and root art
can be created in the garden again starting in the spring.

ARCHERY: Discover the Zen of archery
We, enthusiastic archers ourselves
, currently have a small 18-meter shooting range.
BIKE TOURS: Located right on the bike path, this is the perfect starting point for the
most beautiful bike tours.
We also offer guided tours upon request.
A lockable carport is available free of charge for your bikes. (Also large enough for motorcycles)
NEW: Trekking e-bikes can be rented in town. 20 € per bike per day.
We’re happy to provide contact information.
SAUNA CABIN: On cold days, the sauna is a real treat :-)
In the large garden, surrounded by mature trees, a converted construction trailer complete with a plunge pool is at your disposal.
The usage fee, including cleaning and additional
towels and a sauna kilt, is 20.00 € per person for 2 hours
GENERAL INFORMATION:
Derenburg is a small, tranquil town with just under 2,500 residents and a settlement history dating back more than 7,000 years.
The royal palace was once a favorite residence of the Ottonian kings and emperors. Though barely visible today, it features an information board and a special postmark.
The Derenburg menhirs are also well-known, serving as unique relics of early historical culture.
The famous glassworks is located on the outskirts of Derenburg.
Here, glass objects are still crafted today using traditional methods, just as they were thousands of years ago.
On hot summer days, an outdoor pool offers a refreshing escape for young and old alike
, and south of Derenburg lies a vast, rolling forest.
The diverse sandstone formations and pine forests are truly something special. One of our favorite spots is the legendary sandstone caves below Regenstein Castle. You simply have to see them ;-)
The donkey farm, at the end of Minslebener Straße,
offers, among other things, hiking tours to the caves.
Shopping (including an organic market), restaurants, snack bars, a doctor’s office, a pharmacy, a post office,
an outdoor swimming pool, and much more are all within easy walking distance;
for slightly longer trips, there’s a good bus connection.....
Free local mobile access!
Overnight guests can use their visitor’s card to ride public transportation—including bus and streetcar lines within the Harz district—for free with the Harz Vacation Ticket (HATIX for short).
It’s the perfect way to explore the surrounding area from Derenburg.
We’d be happy to provide more information by email or phone.
