Wonderful retreat near hiking trails
We loved this property. We had 5 adults and 2 kids, 7 and 10 years old. One of the adults and the 2 kids hung out at the house while 4 of us hiked many miles of the Ice Age Trail. The kids joined us for a few miles at the Dells of the Eau Claire and then went back to the property to play and hang out. We had a fire in the fire ring, played croquet, and ladder golf. The house was immaculate. Highly recommended!

Great Place!
Everything at the Shalom Retreat was as advertised or better! Communication with our host was terrific, and we would definitely stay here again if we needed a place in the area.

Great Place
We're a group of friends that now live all over the state, and every fall we get together for a weekend to hang out and play board games. We've stayed here a couple of times, and it's been great whenever we have.

Great getaway with teenagers!
The property was perfect for my spouse, our teenage son and some of his friends, and our dog! The boys had planned to tent in the yard for all four nights of our stay, but due to rainstorms, they slept in the cabin for two. There was plenty of space for this. The boys also enjoyed the yard games and making campfires, while my spouse and I enjoyed the serenity of the setting. Everything was clean and organized, and we had everything we needed. We'd definitely stay again!

Great spot for a quiet stay
We were in town to visit family and this was a great option for three generations to be under one roof! The yard provided lots of fun for badminton and watching wild life. Plenty of toys for our 11 month old! The house had great amenities and the linens were so soft! Location was great - close to the Eau Claire Dells and just a short drive to Wausau. The host was quick to respond and very kind. We'll definitely be staying here again on our next visit!

Very nice
Our family stayed there over a weekend. It’s a lovely and clean home. The owners made sure that everything that we could possibly need is there. They also left clear instructions on how to check out. The house is surrounded by beautiful nature. We enjoyed our stay there and would like to come back in the future.

Great getaway
Perfect for my sister and I to meet with our families so we could celebrate a belated Christmas! Plenty of room to gather. Kitchen had everything we needed for dishes and glassware- coffee bar a bonus for coffee and hot chocolate in the morning. I would definitely go back!

Great for a winter ski get away
This is our third time staying here for a winter ski get away and always have an amazing time. All the amenities you need and plenty of space for 6 of us. Only 25 to Granite Peak/Rib Mt. Love grilling out on the gas grill and plenty of room at the table for all to play games.

Clean and Quite
Property was clean and well maintained. We used the property as a base camp for hunting and spent most of our time away during the day. There was also several inches of snow on the ground at the time. Having said all that the property is fairly remote with a nice yard, fire pit and playground equipment. With better weather we would have enjoyed the fire pit and the county feel of the property. The property was well stocked with everything you need.

Perfect accommadations
This was the cleanest rental we were ever in. The large table and couch were so easy to relax in or/and play games at. The appliances all work perfectly and everything is so well organized that if you need something it'll likely be were you think it'll be. The location is wonderful with the road leading in for quiet walks, the charming small town of Birnimwood and easy access to nature type places.

Great property
Loved the seclusion and location. Close enough to town if you need anything. Supplied everything we needed to have a perfect girls weekend. We loved relaxing on the porch and by the fire pit.

Ski Escape!
We loved our three night stay at Shalom Retreat! The cabin was warm and all lit up for our after-dark arrival. Plenty of room for our family of six..., and all of this, in a rural and serene setting! Thank you Beulah!

Fabulous getaway!
We loved staying here over Christmas. The house is roomy with a nice kitchen. The owners live near by and even brought us a mixer so our daughter could make a cake! We enjoyed being close to several sections of the Ice Age trail along the Plover River. Only 25 minutes from Wausau and a nice tubing hill. There is a long drive which was pretty icy, so if you come in the winter, make sure you have good tires or four wheel drive. Highly recommend this place!

Family Get a way
It has been many, many years since our family has been able to get together. Our goal was just to relax and that was accomplished here. The cabin was clean. TV reception was good which came in handy for the Bucks game!! Loved the covered porch. We were able to sit outside even when it rained. There are a few minor suggestions: The kitchen could use a few more supplies( serving bowls, more pots & pans, measuring cups) We were visited by a stray dog on a few occasions. This might cause issues with kids, people who are afraid, dogs that are staying on the property and guests backing cars out, etc. Grass needed to be cut.
