"The bed was fine and we slept well. The handicapped bathroom was poorly converted and, after a shower, the floor was in about 1 inch of water. They vacuumed it and brought towels for the second shower -to build a dam! Didn’t work as the shower drain water came up in the unfinished drain of the bathroom floor. They came to pick up all the towels, give us new towels and tissues as the tissue box had only had 2 tissues left when we arrived. The bottom of the bathroom wall looked like it was removed...

"It’s an older building, and you can tell. The elevator scared me, the doors didn’t want to close at one point and the noise was a bit unnerving. The rooms were clean but didn’t feel like a hotel, more like a one room apartment building. Not somewhere I would feel comfortable going again."

"We stayed two nights here and while it looked decent online, I was disappointed with it overall. The lobby and hallways reeked of weed smell, the air conditioner was either freezing us out or had to be turned off (no medium setting which was challenging overnight), only one set of outlets actually held a plug in for use, the light over the bed didn't work, and the reflective wall behind the bed was just weird. The bed itself was good and the bathroom was clean, but people left bags of garbage in...

"The room was spacious and immaculate. The food was delicious. The grounds and all well maintained. My only complaint is the beds are hard. At 1 AM, I took the quilt out of the duvet cover and laid it on top of the bottom sheet to help pad the mattress. It wasn't great but it was much better. But everything else was stellar."

The most unacceptable part was that I had reserved a room with two queen beds, but when we arrived, we were told that all the two-bed rooms were gone and were given a room with only one king bed instead. "Location is very good and walkable to lots of good restaurants. In my case the downtown hotels were very expensive so the guesthouse seemed like a good deal in comparison. As long as you have expectations in check (it's a kitschy if not sort of an odd property) then I think it's a very solid choice. We found it to be clean and the staff tried very hard. My son was a little taken aback by it and didn't love the boarded up / semi burned building next door... That said it seemed like a safe...
