Room did not appear clean, when first entering. There is no carpet flooring, the tile or laminate was dirty. Then as we made our way into the restroom, we found the sink area was full of dark spots, realized it was hair dye. The bathtub had this weird caky stuff on the edge. I grabbed a disinfectant wipe and started wiping the edge of the tub, came off pretty easily with a wipe. As I continued wiping, more caky stuff came up, then I started picking up hair with the wipes. By the time I was done with the tub, I had 3 different types and colors of hair and none seem to be from the top of someone’s head. Then I moved onto the sink area. Same issue there, caky stuff on the rim of the sink. Once I completed wiping it, it was clear that this room had not been cleaned. We were concerned the sheets weren’t clean. Went to the front desk to ask for a refund, the desk clerk refused to refund $. It was 10:30 pm we were exhausted, with 7 am competition. Found a room at another hotel. Next morning my husband tried to call the manager, no manager there. It has been a week, still no call back from the manager. Others that we knew from the competition, experienced the same issue. They too tried to get $ back and were denied, but offered a different room. They took it and demanded cleaning supplies and cleaned it themselves. Disappointed and out $250.
