My family and I enjoyed staying at your home. It was exactly as described and shown in the photographs. Simply beautiful! The kitchen had every pan, container, and gadget we needed. The weather was perfect, and we enjoyed watching the sunrise from the porches. Thank you for sharing your home with us.

We rented the house this weekend since it was near our daughterā€™s wedding venue and it was everything Janet and Tony said it would be!! Highly recommend! It was beautifully decorated and in a quiet and peaceful location. Kitchens and bathrooms were stocked and the boys enjoyed using the pool table. We ended our stay with coffee on the front porch for a few hours. We even left something that they made arrangements for us to get back. Would definitely stay again!!

Our extended family met up here from 3 different states and had a fabulous long weekend! We had everything we needed as far as cooking tools and cookware, we brought our own condiments (and food, of course) but there is Tabasco and mustard and lots of spices available! Note there is no dishwasher so we used paper plates often just to cut down on dishwashing time on vacation. The whole house is very clean and there are plenty of towels in the kitchen and bathrooms! The pool table was great and we all honed our pool skills. It is out I'm the middle of nowhere and it was a bit of a tough drive for our elder family members but they parked their car that one time once they got there and were along for the ride when we went to Harper's Ferry for a historical visit (we picked up pizza at The Pizza Shop in Martinsburg on the way back and heated it up at 'home' - really good pizza!) and to Buddy Lou's in Hancock, which was a super fun night out - good food and great service! Shower pressure is good and the watervheated up quickly and the house is toasty (we didn't get much heat out of the stereo can fireplace but it looked pretty). We also had a nice walk over the hill in back and walked to the beautiful creek area...I can only imagine how fabulous it would be in warmer months. Overall, a wonderful place to stay and relax and enjoy ~ thank you, Janet & Tony, for welcoming us into your home!

Our family gathered to attend a wedding near McConnellsburg, PA. The Gordon Homestead was everything we could have asked for and more. Off the beaten path with acres of surrounding fields, woods, and creek, the farmhouse has been updated to provide all the modern conveniences while retaining its rustic origins. We loved playing pool in the game room, sitting outside on the porch and balcony, and making fires in the wonderful fire pit near the most beautiful mimosa tree. The landscaping around the farm house was beautiful, and we enjoyed seeing all the hummingbirds and butterflies and deer. We were about a 15 minute drive from Hancock, MD and a 25 minute drive to McConnellsburg, PA. Berkeley Springs was a 30 minute drive. It took us about 40 minutes to the Hagerstown airport. A wonderful getaway spot but also near enough for sightseeing, shopping, and other activities. A real gem! Thank you to our hosts!

The communication was superb. There were no surprises or I wish I had asked moments. I am just thankful that there are hosts like this who are willing to share their family treasure with total strangers. My family and I could not have asked for a better location, bedding & linens, kitchen equipment, and freedom to live there the few days we were able to spend. If you want peace and quiet this is the place!

We came here to celebrate my mother's 90th birthday. This house reminded us of the farmhouse that she grew up in. Janet and Tony are wonderful hosts! The only reason that I did not give 5 stars across the board is because when we arrived we were unable to gain access into the property because of an issue with the door/lock. That being said, Tony and the caretaker got the issue resolved in the time that it took us to go to dinner, and were extremely happy with the rest of our stay! Got to see some wildlife during our trips as well. Would definitely recommend. Very peaceful and relaxing.

Our weekend stay was more than we had hoped for! With 7 adults on retreat, this homestead was the perfect place to sit in silence, eat breakfast on the front porch, walk down to the stream, pray the rosary, stream videos over WiFi of our spiritual exercises, and share meals and conversation in a comfortable setting. Thankful for the modern conveniences ā€” a/c so necessary with these record-breaking weekend temperatures. Maybe next time weā€™ll get to use the fire pit! Hosts were always quick to respond to emails. Everything in the process was great. One friend was happy I sent her the driving directions before she left home because she lost signal en route through the mountains. The place is well-cared for and beautifully & comfortably decorated. The flowers on the grounds are lovely! Mary

My family and I had a wonderful time staying at this charming property. Great views of nature and nearby mountains. My niece and nephew had a great time exploring the property. We had all the amenities we needed for the weekend. My nephew LOVED the pool table.

We enjoyed every moment of our stay at the Gordon Homestead. It was perfect for our group of friends to hang out, cook, play pool, and mostly enjoy the amazing property and all the fabulous nature it provides. We enjoyed exploring the fields down to the stream, and several people came to utilize Whitetail resort for skiing and snowboarding. It was a little misleading on the online listing that the resort was 8 miles away when it actually takes 40 minutes to get there. However, we loved the house so much it was amazing to come back to after a day on the slopes. Definitely 5 stars!!

This house is very relaxingā€“a spacious, quiet area to escape the hustle and bustle of the city. I stayed here with a group of old college friends to ring in the new year, and couldnā€™t have asked for a better experience. The owners are very responsive, and gave a great booklet to help us navigate hikes on the property. The fire pit was also a very nice touch. A great stay overall!

My husband and I had a wonderful week at this lovely home. It was quiet and very peaceful and relaxing. The kitchen was nicely stocked and the house was very clean. There were plenty of towels and the beds were very comfortable. We really enjoyed the property and surrounding areas. I would recommend this property to anyone who wants to get away from it all in a lovely, rural setting.

My husband and I and our two adult children and their partners spent 2 wonderful weeks in August at the Gordon Homestead. The house was extremely comfortable and more than well-supplied with everything we needed. Super comfortable beds, luxurious bathrooms. The central AC was a lifesaver during the heatwave. We made forays to the many, interesting historical sites nearby, went swimming in the lake at Cowans Gap, read Agatha Christie aloud at the fire pit under the stars. We can't wait to return!

Over accommodating!! From the owners to the home. This place is set up to relax and enjoy. Our sons loved fishing the creek. Our daughters loved walking the trails. The whole family enjoyed the pool table and fire pit. Kitchen was stacked with additional supplies and cookware to prepare for a large family. Overall we loved our stay and if we could give extra stars we would.

Your home was the perfect spot for our girlsā€™ weekend! The house has lots of character and the renovated bathrooms are very nice. Beds were quite comfortable (we couldnā€™t find linens for the futon but we made do). This was the perfect place for old friends to catch up!

Very nice property, old, rustic with modern conveniences. Very rural and peaceful setting, glad we brought our own food!. Cabin had everything we needed for family meals. Great central point for us, as families from NC and NY were able to meet up. Children enjoyed the pool table and walking the property, we even tried fishing in the river that flows on the property boundary. Owners respond instantly to question/concerns. Loved listening the birds, lots of wild turkeys, and the moon rising over Dickie Mountain was a wonderful sight. Would recommend if looking for the rural, tranquil setting, but yet 15 mins from towns to stock up on the basics.

Coming from DC and not planning to ski we were worried the kids would not have any fun activities. We were wrong. We went to Berkeley Springs just 20-30 min away and had lots of fun even during a pandemic. Playing pool at the house, making a fire and playing outside weā€™re just additional benefits šŸ˜ƒ

I rented this house for my brotherā€™s birthday weekend, since it was close to Whitetail Resort. The house was super clean and had all the amenities we needed. The pool table in the game room was a fun activity for our family to partake in after a day of skiing. Definitely recommend!

The house was exactly as advertised. The house was updated where it needed to be and all of the character of the house which makes it so inviting remained. It provided a much needed getaway and was close to the local ski resort. I would recommended this property to anyone who is visiting the area.
