Cozy Pet Friendly Cabin! - 2 blocks from Bear Mountain in Southern California

(Please note we received some feedback that our check in company is charging a huge fee for pet issues, we apologize and are correcting this. Pets of course are allowed on furniture, we have two dogs ourselves and we have rented to guests with pets for years and never once charged anyone a fine)

Cozy cabin in the woods on Bear mountain just 2 blocks to skiing or mountain biking. Walk to the hill and ski down. Also close to hiking trails. Large deck with grill and nice outdoor space. Private location and a large deck. Cabin has beautiful stone fireplace, log beds, Netflix tv and high speed wifi. Sleeps 4 adults and extra young children are ok. Master bedroom has double bed, second bedroom has double bunkbed, sofa bed also available in living room. Bathroom is through the master. Great little cabin for a family trip to Big Bear. Short drive to lake and downtown. Pets are considered upon request. Wonderful stay at the Cozy Cabin!!

This was my first time using VRBO so I was a little nervous, but the whole process/stay went extremely smooth. The Cozy Cabin was exactly as described. Cabin had everything we needed from kitchen items to extra blankets and the best pillows. The one question I did have I texted the owner and he got back to me right away and let me know to text him if I had any additional questions. Looking forward to coming back!

Cozy cabin

Loved it, conveniently located (minutes to town and walking distance to bear mountain) we walked to ski lessons. Kids had a blast riding their sled in the driveway! Heat works well, water takes a few minutes to heat but lasts a long time. Washer/dryer combo to dry wet clothes after playing in the snow! Great little cabin! Hope to plan another trip before too long!

Generally good. Close to the zoo and restaurants (as well as snow activities). Cozy. One negative was that it seemed like maybe the cleaning service missed under the bunk beds as we found quite a bit of leftover trash and wrappers.

This place was just what we needed for a Christmas trip. Perfect size for our family of 4, cozy and close to the mountain. We love staying in Moonridge. Owners were very responsive and accommodating. We would love to stay here again.

Great for families

Super clean cabin. Our host was fast to message back when I had a question. Location was great as well. It was far enough that you got feeling of being out in nature but if you forget anything it's a super short drive to Vons or Walgreens. Lots of trails for mountains biking and if you come in the winter it's a 2 min drive to the lifts. We'll be returning this winter.

Small and Cozy

The cabin was definitely small but accommodated my family of four perfectly. Appliances worked great but the TV is a little small. The Cabin has some fun games to play with the family which is fun for all ages. The location to Big Bear Mountain is awesome! If youā€™re staying multiple days and are planning on hitting the mountain then keep your vehicle at cabin and enjoy a short walk and avoid paying a parking fee.

The name says it all, COZY CABIN. Very nice cabin to spend family fun, My wife was impressed with how everything was set up. We felt very comfortable there. Beautiful and peaceful.

Pros : Great location very private , the balcony is a dream ! We loved how cozy the house got with a fireplace Cons : bathroom was in the master bedroom , the driveway is steep ā€œ but private ā€œ . Would be difficult to drive and reverse off that driveway in the winter when itā€™s icy ! House felt a bit dark no natural light inside . Very strict rules! If the maid says there was 1 dog hair on couch u get fined up to 500$ and u have to sign twice ! Thatā€™s s bit strict ?makes it not pet friendly , and I didnā€™t see any soap ?

quiet place

We stayed at this cabin last year for the 4th of July & liked it enough to come back again this year. What changed since then was that instead of getting the door code directly from the owner, in an email, like last year, he told us in the email we received the week before that we would have to stop in at Sky Management on our way to the cabin to get the code. When we got there, we were told that we had not signed the Rental Agreement yet, so that took extra time. This was something Sky Management indicated was supposed to be the owners responsibility. One of the things on that agreement, that was different from last year, was that if any dog hair was found on any of the furniture, it would be a $500 fine. There's a $250 fine if any urine was found. This is NOT pet friendly and we wouldn't have booked the place if the owner had been up-front about this before we committed to the cabin. It was stressful keeping the dogs off the couch & beds, as they sleep on ours at home, even though we covered the couch with their blankets, which we brought from home. I would advise anyone thinking of staying here to tell the owner you would like to see that agreement ahead of time. It is not OK to find out all of this as you're picking up your key code & are on your way up to the cabin. Otherwise, it's a lovely house & we enjoyed our stay there. We just did not like all the extra steps that led up to actually getting in the place.

Comfortable beds; Missing some basics

When I stay at a short term rental, I expect the same basics that I would get at a hotel/motel with the added benefit of a full kitchen. This place is EXCELLENT in terms of convenience if you come for winter sports. The beds are very comfortable and so is the couch. There is a small breakfast nook for 6. A clean house. The kitchen is good for a family. However, a few things were missing IMO, like cooking oil, trash bags, and basic toiletries (but that was made clear to me prior to our stay). But the reason this place didn't get 5 stars was because of the shower. The shower water pressure, the shower head, and temperature control were poor. After a long day of outdoor sports, I want a good shower. FYI, you have to take your trash out to the city dump site; there is heat, but no A/C.
