Take it easy at this unique and tranquil getaway. Located in a quiet alpine setting, Timber Have Lodge is located in Big Bear Lake, Ca. The rustically inspired log cottage suites have been the ideal family getaway for decades! (See trip advisor reviews)

(#4) Is a boutique family cabin features a stone fireplace, fully equipped kitchen, living room, flat screen TV with Roku, heating and AC. The bedroom has a King bed and living room has a queen pullout sofa.

The picture that is depected in the online booking is a far cry from what the cabin looked like upon entering. The curtains barely covered the windows. The type of fireplace was amazing. The futon in the living room was uncomfortable to sit on. No side table on the left side of the bed. Lack of pillows.

Overall stay was ok. The shower head came off when we turned it on. So, no showers. The king size bed had a twin blanket. And no pillows. When shower doesn't work your stay is not that great!

Scary shack in the woods.

Place was not what was shown. Dirty shack I had to vacate. 4 Big Great Danes barking their welcome. No furniture to sit on. Couldn’t believe. Found another place to enjoy. Big mistake. Landlord would not refund my money. Don’t book this to anyone.

Pictures are not accurate

I expected a bit more than a bed with a flimsy sheet covering the mattress, a small round table in the main room and wish I had brought my own towels as they looked like leftover cleaning rags. The house next door to cabin 4 has 5 huge dogs that I thought were going to break through the fence and attack my dogs. I will say the property manager did respond efficiently, but the overall condition of the property needs a lot of care. Most likely would not choose to stay at this location again. Renter beware.

We had to spend about a hour shoveling snow out of the parking spot and driveway. Bathroom plumbing was bad, Every flush of the toilet resulted in water backing up into the shower. Additionally, there were only two bath towels provided with no bath mats or hand towels. Hair dryer wnd microwave were missing We were particularly disappointed with the kitchen situation, as ventilation didn’t work so windows had to be opened to prevent smoke build up, and smoke detectors were absent

The location was nice. The accommodations were not was it states on the website.We were supposed to have a pull out couch, and a refrigerator.I bought food to cook while there. Unfortunately it went bad and had to throw away because we did not have a refrigerator. All 4 of us had to sleep in the bed because we also did not havethe pull out couch .Very disappointed. away because

Very Small cabin

The listing online shows that that it accommodates 4 adults I’d say 3 because the pullout sofa was way too small to fit two adults. One of us had to sleep on the floor. That was our main issue. I feel like this cabin suits a couple best not a family of 4. It was way too small. Also the cabin was not really equipped with necessary basic commodities like blankets, soap, & toilet paper. We had to go out and purchase soap and toilet paper, luckily we brought blankets. They do have heating so them not having blankets wasn’t to big of a deal.Overall our experience here was great but for next time we should keep in mind to be more prepared for the basic needs that should already be in it already. Would stay here again but would definitely have to prepare and rent out a bigger cabin.

We were expecting a nice pull-out sofa (like shown in the pictures) however we got a pretty cheap folding couch. It wasn't comfortable at all, thankfully we were only here for one night, but our friends didn't sleep too well.

Parking spot taken by others

Every cabin has an assigned parking spot. Some people decide to bring more than the allowed cars and take your assigned spot. We had to knock on each cabin to ask if they were parking in our spot. When we eventually found the person, they became very upset and escalated the situation. They refused to move and started yelling. Not what you expect to experience during a vacation with family. I contacted the manager and never got a reply.

Scam listing/not a fully equipped kitchen or house

We arrived at 6pm and messaged the host that there was no linens for the futon sofa. One of the couches was very dirty, we didn’t even sit on it or touched it. I took food to cook so I began to look around the kitchen, there was one xsmall pan with a burned crust on it and one pot, no cooking utensils, not even a spatula, no drinking cups and not even a sponge to wash dishes with. I then decided to check the whole unit and found the mattress stained with like urine. The host didn’t respond so I called VRBO and went to purchase the necessary stuff to make our stay comfortable. 8pm the host still had not responded to us and vrbo was also not able to get ahold of them. We arrived back to the unit and noticed someone had entered the unit and left a white plastic bad with one comforter in it. This made us feel unsafe even staying there. We called vrbo to report it but it was already too late to find a place to sleep and everything was also super expensive. We didn’t sleep comfortable. We all slept on the leather like couch since it was the only thing clean in the unit, looked new. The bedroom bed also had one leg broken and standing on a piece of wood. I was talking to VRBO and with bad phone service I couldn’t send them my pictures or receive their messages over email. So I messaged the host for the wifi password since I was never provided with it. We didn’t stay our second night. The host still has not been able to be reach out to us. I’m expecting VrBO to make this right.
