The Winding Retreat is an authentic spacious Big Bear Cabin. It`s suitable for up to eight guests looking for memorable mountain adventures. The decor is modern rustic.

The cabin is in one of the desirable locations in Big Bear. It`s nestled between Big Bear Mountain and the Big Bear Lake Village You`ll find almost everything you want to do close to the cabin.

Access the slopes with a short drive to Bear Mtn.

Take the family to the zoo to enjoy the company of Bears, foxes, wolves, mountain lions, owls and eagles.

You`ll also be able to venture out on the many hiking trails.

Staying here is easy, and your trip will be simplified because of the access you`ll have to everything Big Bear has to offer.

After a long day of adventure the Winding Retreat has everything you`ll need for relaxing. It`s equipped with a fully-functional gas burning fireplace to keep the mountain vibes flowing. If you`re into a movie or some TV we have you covered. There`s a TV in the living space equipped with cable and streaming capabilities. We also have Wi-Fi so you can stay connected.

Please Note: For the safety of all guests the outside of the cabin is monitored by video.

Is the house a good place for children?

We`ve had several families stay with us and they`ve found the Winding Retreat perfect for children. There`s a large entertaining space and plenty of privacy in the upstairs bedrooms.

Can we cook at The Winding Retreat?

You`ll love the flexibility of being able to go out or stay in to cook. Our kitchen is stocked with pots, pans, plates, glassware, utensils. If you`re unsure about what we might have, ask us. The gas stove and oven has the ability to help you whip up a meal for 8 or a beautiful brunch. You`ll have no problem feeding the hungry bears.

We provide a coffeemaker, toaster, and microwave.

Should I bring linens or towels?

Nobody wants to travel with their sheets and pillow cases. We provide linens for all beds, and we ensure EVERY piece of bedding is washed before your visit. We`ll also make sure there`s plenty of towels for everyone.

What`s the television/movie situation?

TV is optional in Big Bear, but you won`t miss anything on our 55 inch HD T.V. It`s equipped with cable and streaming channels. There`s plenty to watch, if you want to.

What kind of experience can my pet expect?

We love dogs and we understand how hard it can be to travel when you have to leave your furry friend or friends at home. As far as activities are concerned we`d recommend you check out some of the hiking trails around town. They`re sure to tire out even the most athletic pups. We do NOT allow cats.
