Great Vacation
Wayne's property was the perfect place for our 10 day get away. It was quiet; beautiful view and neighborhood, close to market and bus (which easily allowed us to see the whole island) and a friendly knowledgeable and engaging host. We hope we can stay there again someday. Thanks Wayne!

We had a lovely stay!
My partner and I had the pleasure of staying at this location. It is private and peaceful, and as you can see, the views are spectacular. We enjoyed these vistas each morning as we sipped our morning coffee and evenings over dinner as the setting sun morphed the horizon into a kaleidoscope of colors. The host is onsite, friendly, welcoming, and rich in island information. The only thing that might concern some is that if you plan to use the excellent bus and ferry system (a great value that can get you everywhere), the property is about a half-mile walk to the nearest bus stop.

My husband and I were celebrating our 45th wedding anniversary and booked our 7day stay at this property. We loved our stay at this location. Wonderful property in a nice quiet area convenient to food market and bus stops. Wayne was a wonderful host, very friendly, accommodating and made our stay delightful. We loved everything about the property. Accommodations were perfect. The apartment was spacious and very clean. The breathtaking views of the Harrington sound were lovely. Overall, the apartment provided a serene and romantic haven with unbelievable views and convenient amenities. I definitely gave a 5 star review not only for the location and property but also for Wayne being a lovely host. Can't wait to go back to Bermuda.

Excellent Stay!
My husband and I enjoyed our stay at this property. The bed was nice and comfortable! The access to a fridge and kitchen was great. Although we didn’t cook. Lol! The view was excellent! We didn’t get to utilize the pool but it looked inviting. I would only suggest a full mirror for guest to make sure their attire is in line. This is especially important for the woman. The air condition unit and access to Wi-Fi and TV was nice!

A small, but more than adequately furnished unit with a very comfortable king-sized bed, wi-fi, and giant screen TV. A bit of a walk to the local bus stop with a grocery store nearby. The topper here is the pool and the setting. Spectacular! IMG_2007.jpg

On our 4th trip to Bermuda, we wanted something a little different which was to stay on the east end of the island (our favorite) so we booked a VRBO and it was our favorite trip so far. We prefer and enjoy a closest to local experience we can get and that’s what we got this time. The apartment attached to a family home in a cute neighborhood. We were greeted warmly by the family and the apartment was sparkling clean with a big comfy bed. Outside, the pool was well maintained and there are incredible views (that we could see from the big comfy bed!) Harrington Sound is a beautiful salt water lake in the middle of Bermuda and perfect for everything water related. We went kayaking a few times and loved every second. It was perfect and we can’t wait to go back.

Wayne’s Bermuda VRBO
Great location with beautiful views. Room was nice and had everything you needed. Only got to see our host on the way out as they were away. Only downside is the road and driveway need repair and I wiped out on my scooter.

Beautiful piece of paradise
This is our second time staying here. Very beautiful location. Please note you need a scooter to get around, unless you want to wait for cabs to come pick you up. Beautiful, private property. Wayne Furbert was very easy to contact and always answered any questions immediately. I highly recommend.

Fantastic time!
We had a wonderful week staying at Wayne's property. The room was very clean (and cool!) and stocked with useful sundries (hairdryer, first aid kid, towels, etc). A few beers and a cold bottle of water in the fridge were most welcome after the long flight from London and arrivals process. The pool was nice and clean, and the table and chairs outside the room were a great spot to wind down the day. We didn't get to meet our hosts as Wayne was out of town and the only interaction we had with a family member was at our check in. Thankfully everything was clear and provided for and we didn't require any assistance during our stay. Prior to and during our stay, Wayne was very responsive and helpful, and accommodated our additional requests graciously. We had a great time here and in Bermuda and would absolutely stay at this property again!

Absolutely best possible vacation experience!
We had an absolutely marvelous time staying at Wayne’s pool apartment and it really exceeded our high expectations. Wayne was an exceptional host and took such good care of us both before and during our visit. We can highly recommend this property with five stars! Everything you dream of . . .
I wish there was something negative to say - only because we want to keep this place a secret so we can book anytime we want!! In all honesty though, this place, and it’s host, is everything you could ask for and more. Scheduled to set sail on a 39’ Pearson out of St George’s up to Rock Hall, Maryland to obtain or Offshore Passage Making (ASA 108) certification we were informed that they was a weather delay that out us a week behind. In a panic we searched for a B & B on the island and landed in this one. Someone was looking out for us!! George is a gregarious and fabulous host. Him, his family, and the two dogs Bee-Bee and Cee-Cee, welcomed us with open paws, um, arms. Born and raised in the Island his knowledge and hospitality is beyond expectations. The property overlooks a beautiful bay with access down the cement steps where a double kayak sits for your use. Snorkeling and/or swimming in the crystal blue waters is glorious!! Ask and you will be provided with a delivery of a moped (island primary transportation it seems) or a two seater Twizzy, which was our preferred method. There is a bus stop no more than .5 miles anywhere in the island. Great places to eat, a marketplace and gas station half-mile from the property. Again, if you are not looking for the perfect island experience that you might want to book elsewhere. If you are, this is the place!! Cheers!! Leianne and Michael E.

Nice place and view.
Host met us after we checked in and then took us to the grocery store which was greatly appreciated. For those who are using public transportation, there is a hilly walk from the accommodation to the bus stop. For those of us who are challenged while walking, this took about 15 minutes and not as quick as others have stated.

Amazing!!
My husband and I traveled to Bermuda for our 15th wedding anniversary. Hurricane Humberto set its sights on Bermuda a few days before we were supposed to leave. Our trip status was touch and go for several days prior, and Wayne was just the best. To make a long story short, we got on the first plane out to Bermuda right after their airport re-opened, and we had an amazing trip. The island and people are so wonderful that it hardly mattered that buses weren't running right away and some businesses were closed. Wayne offered us rides and helped with everything he could. I would 100 percent recommend- close to bus stop if you aren't opposed to a bit of walking. Property itself is gorgeous. Everything was wonderful. We hope to make it back! Thank you Wayne!!! :)

Paradise
We are so happy to have stayed at Wayne's Paradise in Bermuda. Great communication, Super friendly, and more than happy to give you recommendations anywhere on the island. Our rental was a 1 bedroom, 1 bath with a small kitchen/ living room area and a patio. Everything was clean and fresh. The only thing I would suggest to Wayne would be to replace the shower-head in the bathroom - its a little older and hard to wash the hair. Other than that - THAT'S IT! It was perfect otherwise. In the backyard, he has concrete steps that lead you down into the "Harrington Sound" inlets - which are absolutely breathtaking to see. He also has a beautiful in-ground pool (very clean) We definitely look forward to staying with Wayne again!

Sunshine and solitude
A wonderful property, well off the beaten track, offering total relaxation with a great pool, gorgeous view, and lovely lawn with comfortable suncots and chairs. There's no traffic noise; listen to the birds and the breeze rustling the trees and be lulled to sleep by the tree frogs' chirps. It was exactly the seclusion I was looking for on this visit to beautiful Bermuda. The bus stops on North Road are a fair distance but if you enjoy walking, it's a pleasant walk, up and down hills, past horse stables and paddocks. Bring good walking shoes and a refillable water bottle and take your time to enjoy the walk. I thoroughly enjoyed my stay. Thank you, Wayne and family.

Just perfect!
This location was the perfect spot to navigate the island. Gazing out at the views of the Harrington Sound was the best way to start and end every day. It was perfect for a quiet, private vacation residence . Wayne was the best host, helpful in all ways.

Amazing Bermudian stay, place and host!
My stay at Wayne’s house was amazing! First of all, his family and he are great hosts. Extremely welcoming and easy to communicate, and made sure to recommend the best place to see around the island. They answered my endless questions very patiently and made sure I was always good! Everything at the apartment was already prepared and organized so that’s stay would be comfortable, and the view from the house is truly breathtaking. Very close to bus stop and convenient store as well! I would highly recommend!

Great place to stay!!
Just to say, it’s not my first time here. There’s a pool to enjoy and lounging chairs by the water. The market place, bus stop and laundry mat is a 10 minute walk from the premises...Mr. Furbert makes sure your stay is a rememberal one and for the price, it’s just right... we will be back again...

LESS THAN WE HOPED FOR
We read the reviews of this site and were expecting a place with terrific amenities, a great location on the island and friendly help from the owner and his family (when needed). Unfortunately, with the exception of the friendliness of the owner's family, this site was lacking in a number of areas. POSITIVES: -There's a gas station and market at the end of the street which is about a 2 minute ride by scooter. -The location has a beautiful view of Harrison Sound with a pool and access to Harrison Sound. It is close to Shelly Bay which we enjoy for swimming/ snorkeling and is close to the Aquarium and Flatts Village. -The owner's family were friendly/helpful in answering our questions about the site and the amenities. - Charcoal grill - Their two pups BB and CC made us smile daily. THE LESS THAN POSITIVES: - Upon our arrival there was a notable smell of cigar smoke in the room and the patio. - On day two, we found the coffee pot was not cleaned and filled with moldy coffee grounds. -Tiny bathroom with no shelves -The few pans in the kitchen were unusably scorched with food/pitted- We ended up buying a new skillet and two sharp knives and left them for future guests. -No battery in smoke detector. -The ceiling fan caked with dirt. -On third day, yard furniture was stored away for possible storm but not put out again when storm didn't come, furniture left next to house. -The cleaning of the pool became less regular the longer we were there. There was a significant amount of algae that increased as the days passed. -The access to Harrison Sound is fairly treacherous. Very steep, narrow cement stairs with no handholds, cement landing was not in particularly good condition and the stairs into the water were in worse condition. Trash and debris covering kayak. -Laundry room was a mess. The dryer vented directly into the room, the washer required reaching into the motor box to push the start button. Dryer requires unplugging to reset with each use and several repetitive steps to bypass service codes that prevent it from working. -Room had an iron but no board. -When stripping the bed upon departure, we found some disturbing stains on the mattress cover. -Screens in disrepair,the building could use paint. -Would have been helpful to know there's no phone in the rental for local calls. I am sad to say this property is not maintained as it should be and feel if the property owner found these issues when he traveled he would find them unacceptable.

It is very unfortunate that these guests thought this way. I could take the time and reply to everyone of their points, but I will only do one. A Hurricane was passing near Bermuda, I was off Island in Europe, and my children packed the furniture away. They left the furniture near the house until we felt the Hurricane (Florence) was sufficiently passed Bermuda. We all know what damage it did on the east coast. If you look at all my other reviews on this site and other sites it would make you wonder if this is the same place. If the guests felt something was wrong at no time did they tell us. Many times I asked if they were ok and they replied that things were great. I wish them all the best.

Always a Nice Visit to Brown Estates
Third visit to the property. Very nice time, location to Shelley Bay, Swizzle, Rail Trail, Harrington Sound, a supermarket, Post Office (for bus passes) and bus stop. Pool is very nice too! Nice people and always a nice stay! Thanks!

A quiet retreat
The Furberts are available and helpful as you live and learn at this property. If you are a walker and take public transportation be ready for adventures and challenges. The walks can become treks if you are not prepared for long times in the humid heat of the day. While amenities are good, there needs to be a clearer written communication on how and where to get the necessities of towels, food provisions, and access to their shore which is only found by descending along a brief but steep cement staircase. Except for two small dogs who can create a barking stir at any moment, the site is rather secluded and peaceful. Be sure to secure reliable taxis to the airport as there are some who booked us only to find out there are no drivers availble for our pick up! Overal this location is enjoyable with a beautiful pool and views.

Beautiful Spot !
Just a short 2 1/2 hour flight from Toronto is the beautiful island of Bermuda. We stayed 2 weeks at "Neston", 5 Brown Estate in the unit facing the pool on the right. The unit was small but had everything we needed for 2 people. Wayne & his family are great people and made us feel very welcome! Shelly Bay Market Place is a short hike away and has everything you need in the way of groceries. The Bermudian people are wonderful and very helpful . Many things to see and do there. We booked a small Boston Whaler from H2O sports in Somerset and spent a great day on the water. Also really enjoyed Tom Moore's jungle ( not marked - on the right hand side before the causeway heading to the airport. To sum it up - great people, beautiful beaches & keep singing Wayne! Beautiful
My husband and I visited "Neston" on August 5th - 9th, 2017. We were so surprised when we saw the view! It's hard to tell, in a picture, how gorgeous it is. We had the room in front of the pool, and were more than satisfied with the accommodations. We did all of our swimming and snorkeling in the Harrington Sound, which is easily accessed from stairs (amazing) on the property ....bring water shoes. The only thing that was slightly challenging was transportation. Once we realized that we could walk to the post office and buy bus/ferry passes, we were all set. There are two places to buy food within walking distance, and Shelly Bay Beach is walking distance as well, but we chose to swim in the Sound. Wayne, the owner, and his family are very helpful and kind. One last tip...set up your cab ride, back to the airport, prior to your last day. Great vacation!
