"Major construction at hotel ruined our stay. They don’t tell you about this when you book of course. We really wanted to love this hotel because of the history. We took the hotel shining tour to learn about the hotel and movie. That was the best part. The hotel is old and does not have central air conditioning. Each room has a window type unit that does not cool the room down. So avoid this hotel in the hot summer. And the massive construction is a mess."

"The restaurant and bar in the main lodge are fantastic. Wonderful food and service. The main building and amenities there felt like a luxury resort. The property is actually on national park grounds and had incredible views. We stayed in the Sears half cabin. The room was clean but very small and the bathroom was tiny (you couldn't close the bathroom door if you were on the toilet). My main complaint about it was that the water pressure was terrible and it took forever to get warm. The rooms...

"Saturday morning at 6 am the fire alarm went off. I had worked late the night before and had to go in early that day. When I asked the front desk what was happening, they said the power had gone out on the whole block. For some reason that couldn't be explained to me, the fire alarm was set to go off in a power outage. The fire alarm sounded for the next hour and a half, making it impossible to go back to sleep. Needless to say, I had a miserable day at work on about 4 hours of sleep."
