A beautiful setting on the lagoon- and quite tranquil-rather than in town. .The owners have put a lot of thought into an environmentally sustainable retreat. And kayaking from your front garden.!

Thankyou Eric. The pop-up restaurant we had running for 5 weeks was fantastic it is true but it is not a permanent feature of our property.

Peaceful and private. Beautiful bush with lots of birds. Well appointed. Short drive to lovely beaches. Our pooch loved it.

Very peaceful and quiet place to stay. Comfortable beds. Only negative is that the accommodation is not close to anything. You have to drive everywhere.

This cottage was amazing for the price! Such a homely feel. We loved the fireplace and the views. It felt really clean. I would just suggest putting a blanket on the couch 😊 that's what we did.

kookaburra cottage
Amazing location and a beautiful cottage with plenty of room for the family. Waking up with a fantastic view and only a short drive to the local shops and beach. Fully equipped house and large bedrooms, huge dining area and lovely verandah to enjoy with a book while the local kangaroos lurk in the corner of your eye enjoying their surroundings.

No real facilities, no one to greet or show you to your accommodation, run down old caravan to sleep in, smelled damp and musty. I couldn’t stay in it and so told the owners, non the less they still charged me full rate of $117. Disgusted. Would not recommend to anyone

Hidden Gem
Stumbled upon this place when the rest of Bawley Point was booked out. What a hidden gem this is. Lovely cabins, free kayaks, 5mins from the beach, all located in a tranquil bush setting on the lake. Will definitely stay here again, very impressed.

True to the name, the property has a beautiful bush setting next to the lake, very open and green, cottages are very well maintained , and just a few minutes to the beach , so best of both bush and beach , loved it

Tranquil hideaway from the world
My partner and I spent a few wonderful days here in the Chefs Cottage. Check in was via phone call from the office. We didn’t need to see a soul. And felt we were the only ones there. It was beautiful, tranquil and relaxing. On walks around the grounds we ran into kangaroos, saw and heard birds in the trees and watched swans on the lake. The cottage was lovely, clean and comfortable. We had a log fire in the evenings due to chilly nights. And had everything we needed. It’s wonderful for a hideaway but easy driving distance to local shops at Bawley Point or Ulladulla and a day out in Batemans Bay. We loved it

Peacefully and tranquil. Clean and most things available. Not sure about the composting toilet and limited drinking water only at specified taps which makes the daily tariff seem expensive for what you get. This Bush Retreat is far from services. Make sure you take in your provisions from the major centres as limited shops and no reception facilities. Overall expensive for what you get.

Yes we are peaceful. We are not on town water or sewer and we are adjacent to a sensitive coastal lake so composting toilets (some cottages) help us minimise waste water disposal. We have unlimited drinking water in all cottages but we do use treated dam water for showers etc. Distances are relative...most people consider local shops etc only 5km away and town 20km away to be close, not "far".

Quiet Haven
Stayed in a perfect retro caravan on the property. Large comfy bed and lots of extra provisions thoughtfully provided. A beautiful quiet spot very close to bush and beaches. Perfect in the winter. Thanks for a great two night stay. I'll be back.

"ONE THE BEST" places on the south coast
The moment we arrived till we had left the retreat. Had enjoyed every minute of of here. Home away from home but coastal lifestyle. 10/10 self contained for relaxation and beautiful bush spot. Everything is only mins away if you need a quick stop at the shops or a coffee too ect.. Amazing for our fur child "Juce". Customer service was 110% excellent. We shall definitely book again soon.

Oysters cottage plus 2 dogs
Great for dogs with tiled floors & floorboards although dogs asked not to be on "furniture" or annoy other guests, thought comment "$50 charged for any pickup needed after your stay" more of a penalty than a fee, guests need to feel welcome even if traveling with dogs. Compost toilet made me feel a little uncomfortable but nice to walk around the grounds with dogs.

OK , good point re dogs. We have never charged anyone for dog poo pickup. That probably has nothing to do with the $50 scare so it goes..

Nice accommodation but their prices are high
I have been staying at their accommodation for 7 years Over the years not much is changed in terms of what they offer, however their prices keeps increasing Last stay for us, we can get better offers else where and our cabin was not peaceful at all Their laundry and cleaning supply store was attached to our accommodation and at least 10 staff cars driving in and out all day long

A beautiful quiet and relaxing getaway.
We arrived and were greeted warmly. In our cottage the fire was going and the cottage was already cozy. We had a lovely wander around the property which was beautiful with lots of wildlife. Our cottage was clean and well set up and we loved the huge bookshelf full of books in the loft upstairs. We really enjoyed our stay and will be back again. Thank you so much for a wonderful mini break.

Beautiful stay and view, a couple of spiders and mosquitoes but it is part of the area. Need more cleanliness but apart from that excellent stay. I will never forget the amazing vie and the kangaroos waiting for you as soon as you wake up.

Nice place in the BUSH
Retreat is the right word. So relaxing. Out in the bush. There are other cottages but you can't see them from yours. In addition to a modern bath and shower there was an outdoor bath tub. You have so much privacy you could bathe outdoors if you wanted to. In the evening the wallabies are all over the place... along the road, in town, eating grass on peoples lawn. I highly recommend this place for anyone wanting to get away and get some pure relaxation.

Not as good as it looks
Room is nice from outside. Inside is ok. Dirty in some areas. A lot of cobwebs around. Carpet in the bedroom is very dusty. Toilet is a compost toilet, which is uncomfortable for some people. Should be mentioned in the accomodation details. View is good and it was quiet. Wifi was not working. Bill, the owner, tried to fix it and reset the wifi range extender but still didnt work. I appreciate the effort Bill made, but wifi availability was one of the reason we chose this accomodation. What made it worse is that phone signal (even Telstra) was very weak (close to none) inside the cottage we were in. At check out, Bill offered to refund $40 (cost for my dog for 2 nights) to compensate the troubles. Have not seen this come in my credit card, but may take few days. In short, beautiful scenery, quiet area, cottage was ok, need to be cleaned up properly, compost toilet should be mentioned, wifi needs fixing. Bill, the owner/host, was accomodating though and put effort to fix the issue.

Coosy and Welcoming
We arrived and was welcomed by the owner at the main house. Lovely people and friendly. Our room was made up and ready. The fire place was also ready to light when we wanted it. The beds were so comfortable and once the heater was going it heated the who cabin. It was wonderful. The morning greated us with the cabin bathed in sunshine and local Kangaroos at our door step. I will be staying there again, given the opportunity. I didn't give a review for neighbours as we didn't have any. A+ Stay!!
