"So terrible we walked in and walked out again, drove around to find a different hotel! This hotel gave me the creeps, like something out of a horror movie with an American hostel feel. We arrived late (10 ish pm) and despite the hotel being quite quiet our room was given to us and was one of the last rooms down a long dark corridor at the back of the building. "Staff was friendly, bed was comfortable, room was refurbished but they forgot about bathroom which was terrible (rusty screws, shower curtain hanger, bulging ceramic tiles). Breakfast was disappointing - super basic - do not recommend. I won't be coming back."

"Excellent staff, super friendly and helpful. Our room 106 needed some TLC but it was super clean and spacious with a very comfy mattress. Breakfast was very good, great assortment of cold and hot food and love that’s it’s a ‘help yourself’ options. Good quality food. Our satnav wouldn’t accept the postcode, so if yours is the same, it’s just off junction 36 of the A1. "

"Excellent value room with comfortable beds. Very quiet area with a very pleasant canal walk. Pub next door is a typical Marston affair, everything was served hot. Breakfast choices all fine. "

"When we arrived, the lady at the reception was very polite and pleasant. However, in the morning when we were leaving, the staff were quite unfriendly and rude. Later, when we contacted the hotel to explain what had happened, they tried to accuse us of having three people stay in a double room. We were honestly surprised, because it was the hotel that checked the three of us into a room with two beds in the first place, but we chose not to raise this issue at the time."
