"Gorgeous little B&B run by the lovely Les. Everywhere was spotless and welcoming. Our room was spacious, comfy, very pretty and had everything we could need for our 2 night stay. "The meals were excellent both for quality and price, staff very helpful. The bed was comfortable however the windows did not close entirely. It was quite warm so not a major problem for us but the windows needed refurbishment so they be opened or closed easily. The electric shower was very weak. These issues were relatively minor given the pluses of staff, food and comfortable beds"

"The room was immaculate with beautiful white bed lines and towels Everything you could need was supplied The things we didn’t like were lack of ventilation. It was very warm and airless even though small fans were supplied. Also very small room so not really anywhere to put suitcases etc"

"Room wasn't cleaned at all, all sorts of used items under the bed that did not belong to us, broken tiles on bathroom floor didn't allow to walk on it barefoot, shower was from hot to extremely hot, cobwebs all over the place. Awful state of the property, ell of damp everywhere, we had to leave after first night, it was unbearable to stay any longer"

"This is an institution but honestly I'd rather have a drink here and sleep elsewhere. The staff were very kind and helpful. It was mainly that because of the awesome pub it is noisy until pretty late. More from people on the street going in an out than the pub itself. It was pretty warm so I needed to leave the window open for some air. It is in the middle of town and safe and clean though, only the partiers were a problem but I was there on a Friday night."

"We spent four mid week nights at the garden room.Itwas just what we needed a beautiful quiet spot to rest and enjoy Northumbria . It may be different when wedding or events are in full swing but I’m sure the staff and location will mean you have a wonderful time."

"I stayed in the dog friendly room which was ok but not great. The carpets were stained and when we first walked in the room we could smell dog it wasn't a fresh smell. There was a half used toilet roll in our bathroom and no fan so it steamed up quite quickly. The room was at the bottom of the beer garden so was very noisy which wasn't that much of a problem. "Rooms were fab - even though it was very hot this July we managed to stay cool! Staff were amazing and it's right next door to the puffin boat trips! We will definitely be back!!"
