Ideal Private Cabin Weekend
This was the perfect place for a weekend getaway from city life! Surrounded by beautiful nature and in total isolation, the cabin is a picturesque vacation spot for relaxation and peacefulness. We took advantage of the fireplace, the hot tub, gorgeous nature views, and the extensive VHS collection. The ideal weekend getaway spot for a couple or small group. So cozy! Will be returning again! Huge thanks to Rita for her constant communication and ease of directions.

Great getaway!
We had a belss as Ted anniversary trip and wanted to get away from the busyness of things. This was the perfect setting and cabin! Couldn’t get enough of the rushing creek! We loved the cozy cabin with its large windows looking out over both directions of the creek. My husband was a big fan of the hot tub as well. We’ll be back. Our hosts were easy to contact, and made our stay relaxing by having plenty of information around the cabin to make sure we operated things like the pellet stove, old stone fireplace, and the hot tub properly and without any issues. Thanks for a wonderful getaway where we were able to reset!

Fabulous
A lovely peaceful and relaxing stay at this property . Loved hearing the creek; being surrounded by trees and seeing the mountain tops when it wasn’t cloudy. We really enjoyed exploring nearby and did some wonderful hiking. Definitely would stay here again.

Magic in the mountains
This cabin is magical. It’s a nod to a slower pace of life from 1929. The smells, the sounds, will put you at ease. The hot tub is nice but older and jets aren’t the best but it heats and is relaxing. The one hot tub pic on the listing isn’t quite accurate for its placement but still amazing views and relaxation. And the VHS collection - pIease add to this, it was a nice throw back. Loved going back in time.

Thank you for your sharing. As you know, the hot tub is on the river deck outside the living room window with the cascading Index Creek and national forest behind it. I appreciate your reminder to remove the old picture of the hot tub when it was on a platform next to the deck. We are having the hot tub water lines inspected and replaced for any slower water flow, in this otherwise perfectly operating hot tub. Nothing is more important than providing you a rejuvenating getaway experience.

Sometimes things are popular for a reason
I had to book this property about 10 months in advance because it’s so popular. What was the best thing about it? There are too many to list. There are so many amazing things about this property: Stellar views from literally every direction, the hiking, the hot tub, the almost 100 year old lodge with its gorgeous fireplace. I think one thing that needs a shout out is the pellet stove. Don’t pick the baseboard heat option (yes, this place even comes with heating options) use the pellet stove. I had my coffee every morning in that comfortable wicker chair, watching the sun rise over the jagged mountain peaks in front of that glorious stove. My dogs loved it too. And the hosts? Forget about it! You could rent every single property on Vrbo and not find hosts half as great as Rita & Scott. Love them!!! All I can say is one night I started a fire in that fireplace, my dogs were curled up in front of it and it started to rain on the metal roof. It was magical. I am pretty sure Rita is some kind of natural force that creates this magical environment that surrounds Harmony Lodge. If you’re thinking of booking, do it!

A Little Slice of Heaven
I find it difficult to articulate exactly how amazing this place was. It was the perfect place to unwind and recharge with my husband. The scenery was to die for. Killer views from pretty much every angle of the house. The bedroom window view is what dreams are made of. The livingroom window in front of the hot tub is basically the whole wall. We sat there for so many hours reading with the door cracked so we could listen to the sound of the stream. I've never met a comfortable futon in my almost 40 years on earth. Yet, somehow they have two of them! We cat napped in front of the fireplace each afternoon on them. The bed and pillows were also exceptionally comfortable, and I'm a very sensitive sleeper as far as what I'm able to sleep on. You have complete and utter privacy, but pretty much anything you could want or need is 15 minutes or less from the cabin- including awesome hiking trails and spots to fish. Our hosts, Rita and Scott were simply wonderful. They were both so hospitable and just downright cool. Rita went into great detail to show us around and how everything worked, etc when we first arrived. She was also ready to help at the drop of a hat while at the same time respecting our time and privacy. My husband and I joked with each other about wondering if they would adopt us 😂 We had all the comforts of home at the cabin: books, DVDs/VHS tapes, games, grill stocked with propane, firewood, everything I needed to cook meals, you name it. 10/10 recommend!

Majestic getaway
My husband and I wanted to have a quiet wedding anniversary. I have been looking at this listing for 2 years. After his deployment, we finally booked it. It was better than imagined. The beauty of the surrounding nature and the rustic cabin was worth the wait. We loved everything about this place. The hot tub was the best part. It was ready for us when we got there and so was the pellet stove. All the notes were very helpful. Make sure to read them all and youll have no questions. Enjoy your stay. You will not be disappointed!!

Piece of heaven
It was beautiful & very secluded. We came here for our honeymoon and we spent our time watching old movies on the DVD/VCR unit and in the fun little towns nearby. The cabin was extremely spacious and very beautiful, peaceful and quiet.

Spring weekend
Words cannot describe this Cabin. It’s like going back in time. It is truly a magical place. The deck and hot tub are the a place to be unless you’re walking around the property. They have a very decent DVD and VHS a library. We were able to get some beautiful, sunny weather, as well as a thunderstorm both beautiful spectacular in their own way. I have recommended this cabin to many friends and plan to return soon.

Magical Location
I can't say enough about the lovely location of this cabin! Even though it was raining during our stay (which we expected, as we live in the PNW), the cabin is rustic and cozy. The sound of the river is amazing. It is surrounded by lush, green forest. We particularly enjoyed sitting in the hot tub and looking at the river.

We waited 10 months to stay here. I had just got back from a back country elkhunt 3 days prior to our check in. We found out there was a wildfire in the area. Rita kept us informed with all the information. As the threat of a wildfire Was on the opposite side of highway 2. The firefighters Did an excellent job of containing it into the wilderness. Our family had a excellent time staying at this historical cabin. We would absolutely love to come back for a Winter retreat. Thanks again Rita And Scott for some long lasting memories.

My family and I had a blast at Harmony Lodge! The cabin is cute as a button, clean, comfortable, and completely private. We loved cooking dinner on the gas grill on the deck. We swam so much in the swimming holes just down from the cabin. It was so fun. We will definitely be returning. I hope this place stays open to the public for a long time. I love it.

Wow. I booked Harmony Lodge off the strength of the reviews and I’m so glad I did. Everyone is completely right when they say this place exceeds all expectations. The setting is just incredible, I’ve never seen views like it. They’ve thought of everything in the cabin. We watched golden hour from the hot tub, had a dip in the creek, and generally just marvelled at the nature around us. We will remember this trip forever.

Wonderful Experience!
Beautiful and peaceful getaway. The cozy cabin was charming and the views on either side of the cabin from the floor to ceiling windows were ridiculous! One side had the mountain and creek and the other side had the creek coming downstream. My 13 year old twin boys loved exploring the property. Temperature of cabin was satisfying. I would recommend this place to all!

The Perfect Getaway
The moment we arrived we immediately knew we didn't book enough nights. This cabin was the perfect escape back to nature. The sounds and sights of the property were absolutely dreamy. The cabin and hot tub were clean and the small touches by the owner very thoughtful. Plenty of extra towels and blankets and a well stocked kitchen for home cooked meals. (April 2022)

A little peace of paradise
From the moment you cross the historic Barring bridge you are wondering what to expect. As you go up the hill and pull into the Harmony Lodge it’s like a peace of paradise. You are totally immersed in nature. A comfortable rustic cabin with all you need to enjoy rest. Books, board games, movies galore. I doubt you’ll do anything but take in the views and sounds of peace. A comfortable bed to be cozy on a rainy night. We also enjoyed the great fireplace in the evening. Don’t forget the hottub overlooking the creek. So relaxing you’ll never want to leave. Thank you Rita for a wonderful stay. It was like welcoming us to your home.

Very secluded
Our stay was beautiful and quiet. The weather could've been better, but it was typical spring rain. The only downside was that there are no curtains so when it became pitch black at night it was a little unnerving and the bedroom could've had a few more blankets, other than that, it was awesome.The hot tub was so relaxing! The cabin is rustic and beautiful. It was a very memorable trip.

It is wonderful you had an amazing time. I should clarify in addition to the 2 blankets on the bed, there is a 3rd blanket kept in dresser drawer next to the bed; and we will hereafter place it at the end of the bed. There is also fleece-lined snuggle blanket placed over back of the couch. And, there is curtains in the bathroom and bedroom. No curtains in living room or kitchen because you are totally secluded 1/10 a mile over a hill inside this private property. Nothing is more important than the much appreciated tenants, and before arrival we remind tenants that we available 24/7 during their stay.

This property is an experience that hits all the senses ! The cabin itself is warm and inviting. The views and surrounding nature is stunning! Valentines Get Away

Healing seclusion
It's hard to put my experience into words, but Harmony Lodge was simply amazing. It already looked too good to be true on-line and it way surpassed my lofty expectations in person. Rita was incredibly responsive and friendly and I could tell she cared about ensuring her guests had an excellent experience. The cabin had everything I needed and I simply added myself, my dogs, and groceries. The views and sounds were spectacular - it's seriously like a little mountain paradise. Being from Texas, the October weather here in Washington was more rainy and cold than I'm used to, but I was prepared for that AND Rita made sure that the cabin is equipped to keep guests warm and happy - in addition to the fireplace, there is a pellet stove and I also had the option to use the central heating as well. Nights were cold outside, but warm and cozy inside. My dogs had a blast exploring around the cabin and on the trail. I just wish we were closer so we could return much sooner and often. Hopefully we'll get to experience this awesome healing retreat again in the near future. Thank you, Rita!

There are no words that describe the beauty
If you are like me, you build up these great expectations before a major vacation. Then, inevitable, you get disappointed in some way. Harmony Lodge. I couldn't have possibly built up high enough expectations. Harmony Lodge exceeds anything I could have ever imagined.! It's magical. It's rustic. It's honey. It's amazing. And, Ms Rita is the best at her job. This lady , well, she thinks of everything. Every little thing! Thank you for the best vacation on my 51 years on Earth.

Little piece of Heaven
This was the absolute perfect getaway if you appreciate being off the grid in total seclusion. We surely do! My husband myself and our 2 dogs stayed here for a long relaxing weekend. We received more than we could have expected. Hiking swimming and hot tubing. The owners have instructions labeled everything and had instructions for everything. Our dogs had a blast in the water. We enjoyed quick refreshing jumps in the icy cold water. The views are beyond breathtaking. I took so many photos. The cabin has everything you need to be comfortable and entertained. The history of the cabin is really neat and if you appreciate antiques they have quite a few. It’s cozy and beautiful. We plan on coming back for a much longer time. Thank you so much for allowing us to be able to enjoy this little piece of heaven.

Total Seclusion is right!
My husband and I have been to Harmony Lodge twice now and will be booking a 3rd trip soon, it's that good! I have rented various cabins in the area over the years and this is by far the most secluded place I have found, which is important to me coming from the city. As soon as you crest the little hill in the driveway, you won't see another soul the whole time you are there. I love the history of the cabin and although it is a bit rustic these days, I can imagine it was top of the line in its heyday and it has been very well maintained (just not updated, which is OK!). The pictures really don't do it justice and I was pleasantly surprised at how spacious the living area is. Since there is only one bedroom, my husband and I have chosen to only travel here ourselves, but kids or another couple could be comfortable on the futons in the living room. I have experienced both cold/rainy and warm/sunny weather here and both are great. If it's warm, get out on the river. If it's cold, bundle up by the fire. And the view from the hot tub cannot be beat! There are also several nearby trails to explore which are walkable from the cabin. The only con I can think of is that the bed is not the most comfortable (too soft?), but that is easy to overlook with everything else this cabin offers. I cannot wait to return!

Almost Heaven
The pictures online do not do this property justice. From the moment you walk in, you are greeted to never ending show, hosted by mother nature. The north and south walls of the cabin are showcased with 7 foot picture windows. To the north Baring Mountain is on full display and to the south, an awe inspiring view of Index Creek. However, to call this tributary a creek, is to understate the magnificence and splendor that this river truly is. The hot tub sits right outside the southern window, giving you front row seats to the best show that this property has to offer on a daily basis. Not to be outdone, there is a window facing west, parallel to the river and just beyond a charming deck shaded by old growth evergreens covered in spanish moss. Two lounge chairs entice you to grab a drink, lay back and take in the river as it passes by, accompanied by a constant cooling breeze winding down the valley. Rita has made every effort to make sure that your stay in this cabin is relaxing, and unforgettable. There are just so many things that I can say about this property, so let me get to the point. If you are looking to relax, reconnect and recharge; you owe it to yourself to book this cabin.

Seriously Spectacular
This is one of the few times when the pictures don't do it justice! Seriously. The view from inside and out were spectacular. And it was perfect for us because there were hikes and walks we could do from the cabin, in addition to the hot tub and fire pit. Rita was so helpful giving us local fishing info and they provide tones of information in a binder on near by hikes and places of interest. Dreamy, that's the best way to put it. The place had charming quirks given it's age that were all very well marked and explained. The pellet stove was particularly cozy and easy to curl up beside after a cold hike over the snow line. We were looking for dates to book again before we were even home.
