Clean cottage with great amenities and beautiful views! We were able to watch birds and seals from the sunporch while drinking our morning coffee. Host thought of everything and the holiday decorations made our stay very cozy. Host was very responsive and helpful, even sent someone over to plow the driveway after a snowstorm! We loved staying here and it was the perfect spot to stay while exploring the coast of Maine and Acadia National Park.

Beautifully kept and clean house! Great closet space in the bedrooms and all the essentials were available in the kitchen. When we arrived there was a surprise basket of snacks with some s’mores goodies- much appreciated! Very easy to contact our host during our stay.

Great place-Great view!

The house is lovely, the hosts went above and beyond and left fixings for s’mores fire wood for the pit,ect. The view is amazing and so quiet and relaxing! We will be back!

Rocky Beach Cottage Fall Getaway

We loved our stay at Rocky Beach! The property and home were exactly as described/pictured on the website. The cottage was decorated beautifully, and supplied everything we needed and more. The location was convenient to the lobster boats and Acadia Park, both which were very enjoyable. The firepit in the back yard by the beach was a great way to unwind after long days of sightseeing. The hosts were always just a message away, and responded to all our questions quickly. We will definitely plan to stay at Rocky Beach again!

Excellent Stay - Very relaxing

Enjoyed our stay at Rocky Beach. House is very well kept, clean and well organized. Loved the sandy/rocky beach front for fires at night (watching the stars) and sunrise in the morning. Hope to be back.

Amazing property

We know this area well and there are lots of choices of where to stay. You will be so thankful you picked this property. The moment you enter, you will feel at home. It mirrors the pictures on line and you will have everything you need in the house. The sunporch was our favorite spot, facing the water while watching the lobstermen haul their traps, the blue herons, Canadian geese, loons and birds of many types. There is not one thing I would change; we will definitely choose this cottage again. My granddaughter especially loved the snack tray. I could go on and on about all the touches that were special. Thank you Alice for making our vacation perfect.

Beautiful retreat

Awesome location and beautiful setting. Very glad we stayed here versus closer to the chaos of Bar Harbor (that was great for the day trip, but too busy for me!)

Quiet, Peaceful and Breathtaking

The house was perfect for us, well taken care of, clean and love how the hosts left some treats. We needed them after a long day of travel to get there when we checked in. The weather wasn't super cooperative, but on our first full day, it was clear. We watched the sunrise, that alone was worth the trip. It will be etched in my memory forever, just incredible and I would recommend, you won't regret it. The one thing most noticable was the quietness of the area, my girlfriend and I talked about that often, you can hear a pin drop there, so if that's important, you won't go wrong. You do trade off the quietness however with access to places to eat, so keep that in mind, be prepared to drive. We visited Acadia twice while we were there and once while in Bar Harbor, the park near the cottage has less people and is more beautiful than the Bar Harbor side, just amazing. The hosts did recommend we stop on our drive in at a grocery store for provisions and I urge anyone to do the same. There is a new place called Bunkers we found on our last day, never showed up on any internet searches,its about 15 minutes away, down the street of the ice cream shop and was awesome, both are, you won't regret the blueberry ice cream sandwhich at the ice cream place, had we known about Bunkers on day 1, probably would have eaten dinner there every night. If you are looking for quiet and willing to drive, you have found the ideal place, thank you Alice, you have a wonderful house, it was hard to leave

Highly Recommended

The description on Vrbo is understated. This is a great get away from the population. Everything was great. We enjoyed the Schoodic Acadia near by and rate it as the best kept secret. We wanted to get away from people and found this to be a great spot. Enjoyed Lunch on the Wharf in Corea and the other close restaurants as well. Spent 2 hours in Bar Harbor and couldn’t get out fast enough. If it’s your scene, this is still a great place to stay and have your own beach privacy.

Picturesque Cottage in the woods

Nicely renovated 2 bedroom 1 bathroom house. Very clean and quiet. Has AC in case it gets hot. Great view of the ocean. Easy to communicate with property manager.

Rocky Beach Cabin

The cabin and property are beautiful, updated, and well maintained. The hosts go above and beyond to ensure you have everything you need (i.e. binder with local attractions, helpful notes/instructions, warm/comfy blankets, great coffee bar area with ice maker, wood for camp fire, plenty of TP/paper towels etc.) The welcome note with snacks was a fun surprise and appreciated. They respond quickly to any questions as well. We spent a day in Bar Harbor/Acadia, found a lot to do & see there, and loved hiking in the park. Some may prefer the crowds and busy-ness of Bar Harbor, and the drive went fast if you want to spend more time there. We loved exploring the Schoodic Peninsula, and found we preferred the calm, peaceful atmosphere, which had plenty for us. We enjoyed seeing the fishing villages, wine tasting at Bartlett winery & distillery, trying local beers at Bunker's seafood & spirits, great ice cream at "Me & Ben's Dairy Creme", a variety of sea & land food options not too far away, and friendly people/service everywhere we stopped. Our favorite spot was Schoodic Point, where we could have spent a full day climbing on the rocks and enjoying the spectacular view. We saw plenty of people biking and hiking at Acadia Schoodic and wished we'd had more time to do that too. It was a wonderful visit, and we would definitely come back!

Weekend getaway

We had a wonderful time and the neighborhood was quiet. We were able to rest and recharge. We had everything we needed and it was very clean and host was accommodating. The view was breathtaking and we loved having the beach so close. It was a great way to spend our evenings. We will definitely be back

Maine coast get away

Everything was lovely inside and out except for the bed in the second bedroom. My 72 year old friend had to sleep on the couch because it was just too small for 2 normal weight adults to sleep together. Change it to a queen and everything else was wonderful!!

Perfect rental for family vacation

My husband and I enjoyed this home with our two children (19 & 21). The quiet neighborhood was great to relax and enjoy the outdoor space at the home. It was close to grocery and lobster markets to ensure we had everything we needed (we visited Winter Harbor Co-Op every day for our fresh lobsters!!) Although, planning ahead was key as everything was closed between 5-7pm. Driving to Bar Harbor and "the big park" was easy, but we really enjoyed exploring the Schoodic Peninsula and appreciated being away from the hustle and bustle (and lines!!)

Wonderful!

We had a wonderful time at Rocky Beach cottage. The house is really charming and the views of the beach and water can't be beat! The hosts were very friendly and included lots of touches around the house to make guests feel comfortable. We spent time in Bar Harbor and visited beautiful Acadia, but also enjoyed eating lunch in Corea and stopping by Dorcas library. We would definitely stay here again!

VRBO was extremely well equipped (with fire pit, logs and s’mores provided) and very clean. One of the best we have ever stayed in and pictures are accurate. Very close to Corea on the wharf restaurant for fresh lobster. Only issue was new house being built next door that caused quite a bit of noise. I would have liked to know that before the trip so we could have planned our stay during more of the weekend when there were no workers.

Welcome "Home"!

After booking Rocky Beach Cottage, I was contacted/welcomed by the owner...with kind and helpful communication/updates prior to our arrival. Upon a late (midnight) arrival, the lights were on and we walked into an immaculate, yet very cozy/inviting, reTREAT! Upon waking to a beautiful sunrise, the lapping ocean sounds against the rocky coastline had me skipping outside to fully enjoy the most peaceful setting. Priceless. I had not been back to Maine for 30+ years. Staying in such an inviting cottage, and neighborhood (saw a deer saunter by during a misty evening stroll down the road!), with all the necessary amenities, I truly did not want to leave.

Great house on the shore

This house was a really good place for my family. The host was really responsive and helpful (they knew we had an infant so they put a pack ‘n play crib at the house for us and responded to questions within minutes). The house was very clean and nicely appointed. The lobster steam cooker they have on the property was such a fun experience and really easy to use. I would not hesitate to go back!
