Gem of a place
We had a great at Rose and Steve’s place. This is a great place for families with small children. Place was excellent, clean, cozy and conveniently located near Acadia.

Nice cozy clean Cabin.
The cabin is well equipped with all this necessary to stay for a Family of 4. I regret my children grow up because the yard is great for the little ones. The place is quiet and relaxed. The only cons I can say is the parking area, a little small, one day we didn’t have to much room for parking.

A wonderful spot near Bar Harbor & Acadia
We loved our recent week long stay at this “cozy cabin”! We arrived to an adorable home away from home with an incredible backyard for our young kids. Having two bedrooms was very helpful for the lengthier visit and the kids had a ball! We also appreciated how centrally located we were on MDI and enjoyed exploring!

Maine Vacation
My family and I love this this cabin. It’s in a great location just minutes from downtown Bar Harbor and Acadia national park. The cabin is great for kids. It has a large backyard with a swing set, slide, and a sandbox. We can’t wait to come back.

Cozy Country Cabin!
My brother and I spent the week up in MDI at Cozy Country Cabin!! The house was kept very nice and offered plenty of room and had just about everything you would need and located in very good proximity to everything the island had to offer including downtown Bar Harbor, Acadia, Southwest Harbor and all the surrounding area!! Would definitely spend another week here again!!

Amazing playground, great central location
My husband and I traveled with our 2 young kids. The backyard playground was perfect for them! It’s the main reason we chose this house and it exceeded expectations. The cabin was clean and had all the basics we needed for our stay. The location is great to explore all of MDI. We never had to drive more than 20 mins, whether we headed to downtown bar harbor or explored the quietside. And the cabin is just over a mile from Town Hill which has a market and a couple dining options. Check in was easy. The cabin was as expected based on the listing photos. And the owners were very responsive to communication!

Favorite Vacation
We had one of our favorite vacation at this property! Clean, well stocked, perfect backyard for kids. The beds were comfortable, the shower had hot water and great pressure. Steve was a great host. Perfect location, 15 min drive to Acadia, Downtown Bar Harbor and restaurants

Stay at cozy cabin
Stay in the cabin was wondering. Perfect little spot to get away for a long weekend with our family. Our 2 year old LOVED the play scape and sand box in the yard. There was plenty of bed space for us as well. 10/10 would rent here again!

Convenient and quiet location, just minutes from Acadia national park, Cadillac mountain and downtown Bar Harbor. Cabin is very clean and has all the amenities you need . Great family retreat.

Convinient and cute cottage
It's in a nice and convinient location. Go to Echo lake and trail in about 10 minutes. Go to Cadillac Mountain entrance in about 15 minutes. The playground is awesome and an extra bonus. It has a descent deck and a firepit in the back yard. Wewould love to come back next year.

Small but mighty
This property is just the right size to do a whole lot of nothing and a little bit of something. It’s location is just right far enough from the hustle and bustle and close enough for nothing but peace and quiet.

Cute cozy cabin
Great experience. Our kids loved the backyard (even better than pictured). The hosts were great. The location was far enough away to feel like you’re in the mountains but close enough to get to Bar Harbor, various hikes, without a crazy drive. Most places are 15-20 minutes. Will recommend to friends/family!

We loved our stay in the cabin. It is located in a very quiet area and close to the shops and restaurants in Bar Harbor.The cabin was very clean and was furnished with everything we needed. My 4 yr old daughter loved the playground and sand sandbox.

We were delighted by this cottage from the moment we arrived — perfect for our small family. Has all the charm and character indoors and out. It is well situated on MDI to take advantage of all the things to do. We are hoping to stay here again!

Terrific quiet getaway
Steve and Rose and warm hosts. The cabin is clean and set in a nice off the beaten path location. The big back yard gave our two kids (6&8) plenty of space to play. And it was so easy to get to all points on MDI while feeling away from the hustle and bustle. Thanks!

Peaceful Comfort Near Acadia National Park
It was an absolute pleasure to stay at this peaceful, well-appointed, private cabin near Acadia. The cabin is very clean and had everything we needed. My kids enjoyed playing on the swingset, which isn't the only fun feature of the backyard. The cabin is close to Acadia and Bar Harbor, which enabled us to have a memorable, adventure-filled week. Thank you, Rose and Steve, for sharing your beautiful property!

Simple but sweet
The cottage is simple but provided everything we needed. When we arrived it was spotless and the owners had left a small vase of wild flowers on the window sill. My only complaint was that we had to drive about 20 min every time we wanted to go to the park or into town and those were the two places we were the whole week. Otherwise the cottage was a wonderful place to stay with the family and it kept our trip within budget.

Perfect Acadia and Bar Harbor Stay
We had an amazing stay! It was me, my wife and two kids ages 9 & 10. This is the perfect place to stay for Acadia and Bar Harbor without being in the chaos of Bar Harbor. 10 minutes to Acadia and 15 minutes to Bar Harbor - both leisure drives with no traffic. Both bedrooms in the cabin are roomy and the fenced in backyard is VERY big. We had s’mores in the firepit out back and enjoyed the peace and quiet of the woods. Very safe and would absolutely return. Do not question staying at this cabin - for the price, it can’t be beat.

Centrally located cozy cabin, close to NP and Bar Harbor
This cabin is small, aptly described “cozy cabin.” It was perfect for the three of us. We loved the location. It was quiet and peaceful while being centrally located, allowing easy access to the National park and Bar Harbor. We rented bikes in town at Bar Harbor bike rental and spent 3 days exploring the carriage trails. It was awesome, totally recommend this activity. The cabin had guide books that were great, directing us to some gorgeous hiking trails. We didn’t have any little ones with us, but if we did, it would have been a great set up for kiddos. Play equipment, sail boat converted into a sand box, fire pit and a fenced in yard. The 2nd bedroom had a double and a twin. The BBQ set up worked well. There is no washing machine at the cabin, but we didn’t mind since we were only there for a few days.

Perfect Playtime!

Well-appointed property offering comfort and convenience
The Cozy Country Cabin provides visitors to Mount Desert Island with a clean, quiet, comfortable and convenient base from which to explore the area's natural treasures. Owners Steve and Rose Demers have done a wonderful job appointing their cabin with the amenities of home in an appealing, rustic chic style. The cabin features three comfortable beds, living room with flatscreen TV, a selection of books, and a kitchen stocked with utensils and other essential cooking items. A well-landscaped backyard area includes a large deck with grill, fire pit, and play area for children. Parking is convenient and neighbors are friendly. After two long days of exploring MDI and Acadia N.P., the cabin made a perfect retreat for rest and recuperation. We'll be returning, for sure!

Our cozy cabin was absolutely adorable, super clean and very accommodating! We cooked, grilled, spent a lot of time on the back deck. We were only about 10-12 minutes from Bar Harbor/Acadia. Our hosts were very nice and communicative. Overall amazing experience :)

Great family friendly stay
We had a lovely time. Great central location on the island. Pretty much 20 to 30 mins from everything. Our young son loved the backyard! Sand box, play ground, and lots of yard toys! The cabin is just the right size for a small family. The only things to note, are that it is small and one of the rooms has 2 large doors that open to the living room. These can be closed, but they have large glass panels so getting that room dark while being in the rest of the cabin is hard. Also the heat source for that room is in the main part of the cabin. So it's a little tricky with a little who naps/goes to be early. The kitchen was lacking a few things, no sponges to wash dishes (had to buy at the store), only 2 "sharp" knives (a steak knife and a serrated bread knife) and one pan. The owners are friendly but do live on the property as well as another rental property. Also there seems to be a childcare/school at the owners house as when we arrived there were cars coming and going and lots of kids around. Which didn't end up being a big deal, but would have been nice to know. I would stay again, but come better prepared with curtains and my own knives.

Hello Brooke, Thank you for your review and for pointing a few things out that we can improve. Per your suggestion for the kitchen we've purchased new sharp kitchen knives, assorted sponges, and taken care of light control for the smaller bedroom. At our home we provide art classes for young children one or two afternoons a week so that is why there was some traffic in the shared drive and parking. Regards, Steve

Fairy cottage in the woods!
The cottage was a perfect for our visit to Acadia and Downtown Bar Harbor. Both were within a 15-20 min drive. The property has all the amenities needed and the kids especially loved the backyard play area which was great for us adults to sit on the back deck and watch.

Lovely place!
We really enjoyed our stay in the Cozy Country Cottage! It was just the right size for us and our two children, ages 14 and 11. The fenced in backyard and fabulous play area were an extra added bonus! The cottage is tucked away on a quiet road but very close to downtown Bar Harbor and so many spectacular spots in the park. Steve was very responsive and easy to communicate with and although we only met briefly, Rose was welcoming and friendly. Truly a wonderful little place!

Absolutely amazingly perfect in every way
All I have to say to start is that we will definitely be returning to this amazing property! It is the perfect location. So close to Acadia National Park and downtown Bar Harbour. It’s cozy. Clean. Has special touches to make you feel at home. Our two girls felt right at home immediately with their own room with two beds and their own playground which was absolutely amazing! Fenced in. Fire pit so we made s’mores. It honestly was just perfect! Property managers Steve and Rose made you feel at home. Such lovely people who were always there to answer questions or to just say hi as they were walking by. We are already talking about our next trip back.

Excellent cabin
The cabin was perfect for my wife and I but could easily accommodate more. The proximity to Bar Harbor was perfect as it is not too close in where crowds would be overwhelming but also only about a 15 minute drive to the heart of the town. Acadia’s Hull Cove Visitor entrance is also only about 10 minutes away. We struck out more north to check out Schoodic and Lubec and this cabin is a perfect launching pad for a day trip to the easternmost point in the US. The cabin is tucked away in the woods, not near any roads so it was nice and quiet. We had a great time!

Quaint, quiet, and convenient
This was the perfect place to get away for a quiet, relaxing, and COVID-safe vacation. Nestled in the woods, it feels like civilization is worlds away, but the central location is convenient to both sides of the island, Acadia, and Bar Harbor. We really enjoyed our stay and would happily stay here again, maybe with the kids next time!

Hiking fun
Just perfect .we drove from Florida to go to acadia national park. We enjoyed hiking every day. Had the luck of perfect weather. Had to go to a nearby town to get lobsters and lobster roll . Because it was.off season. But it was worth it . Perfect location for going to the park.

Sweet Cabin
We stayed with our 2 and 4 year old children. We showed up to an immaculate cabin with the windows open to let the fresh air in. It is way better in person than the listing. The yard was amazing for the children with tons of play space. The cabin is small but has a great layout with absolutely everything you need. The communication was great with the owner. The cabin is on the same property as the owner but you still feel secluded and have plenty of privacy. Would 100% recommend to anyone who is looking for a nice clean space. Would be great for any small family or a couple. Hope to visit again this summer.

Perfect cabin in secluded area close to Acadia
This cabin was perfect for our Acadia trip! There were 3 of us: Myself, my husband, and our 5yo son. There was a big bedroom with a queen bed perfect for us and a second room that was very kid friendly and fun for our son with 2 beds that could sleep 3 if needed. The cabin is on a very quiet back road in the woods on the owner's property, but far enough away from their house that it's still very private. The owners were very nice with any interaction we had with them. Only ~12-15 minute scenic drive to most places in Acadia National Park, including Bar Harbor. There is a gas station with food right down the road if needed. I am so glad we decided to stay here vs in the city because of the privacy and much more value for the money. The hosts were always responsive to my questions from the start. Their cabin has a lot of little touches that you don't have with every rental that made a huge difference such as plenty of warm blankets (we stayed in the winter), many pillows, ample towels, a space heater in the kids room, paper towels and toilet paper, some toiletries, and plenty of cookware and dishes. There were also many good books available. Good shades in bedrooms so you could actually sleep. Also a huge bonus was the fenced in playground for the kiddo with lots of unique obstacles where our son would go out and play while we relaxed at the little dinner table. After a long day outside in Acadia in the winter weather it was nice to come back and have TV available (we used Netflix). They also had fast internet and good phone service. All around, highly recommend!! No need to stay in Bar Harbor with this as an option! Thank you so much to the owners!

Heaven in the woods!
Absolutely perfect! Since we arrived to a fresh clean cute and cozy cottage. Owners really friendly and welcoming. Location is close to everything food, view sights, trails, shopping area.
