Description: Located in the beautiful development of Echota on the Ridge, this two-bedroom, two-bathroom downstairs (stair access only) condo is perfect for your next vacation. This condo is fully furnished with everything you would need for a long retreat or a short weekend getaway. The kitchen is well equipped to prepare meals and the living room is inviting with a gas log fireplace and amazing mountain views. Curl up, get cozy and read a book, watch TV or take a nap…. the choice is yours! Guests of this unit have access to the deck from the living room or primary bedroom where they can breathe in fresh mountain air while gazing at the mountains and listening to the sounds of nature. Enjoy a short mountain getaway to relax or an extended stay and explore all the High Country has to offer. 

Resorts' Amenities: Amenities in these gated resorts include indoor and outdoor (seasonal May 1 - Oct. 1) swimming pools with hot tubs, two private clubhouses, fitness rooms, stocked fishing ponds, a 23-acre riverfront park, community hiking trails and catch and release fishing.

Location: This Resort is centrally located to Boone, Banner Elk, Valle Crucis and Blowing Rock in the Foscoe area. The convenient location makes it just minutes away from all the High Country’s most famous attractions such as the Blue Ridge Parkway, Tweetsie Railroad, Grandfather Mountain, Linville Falls and Caverns, and Appalachian State University.  If you are looking for winter sports there are several different options from Hawksnest Snow Tubing, Sugar Mountain Ski Resort, Beech Mountain Ski Resort, and Appalachian Ski Resort. Relax and enjoy the slow pace of the mountains and the fresh air or be adventurous and go hiking, fishing, biking, or sight-seeing. Some other things people enjoy are shopping, antiquing, skiing, golfing and miniature golfing, ziplining, go-karts, and gem mining.

Beautiful property! Views gorgeous! Easy check in- well stocked kitchen(could use a collandar) tried reaching company several times with questions, no response didn’t use pool. Trash was super hard to find, had to ask a maintenance guy.

This is a great little rental. There are some small issues like a utility door that doesn’t close and shotty WiFi but overall we loved the place and the views. Also it’s a little far from the indoor pool so likely could be mentioned in the description so it’s not a surprise. You have to drive about 10 min to get to the indoor pool. The pool is nice and big and the lockers rooms are nice. The deck and the view are the best!

Memorial Day in the mountains

We love staying in Echota and have stayed in a different condo each time we’ve visited. Overall this location was fine. We enjoy the amenities like the pool and hot tub, several local hiking trails, and the proximity to great locations like Blowing Rock. The layout of this condo was also suitable to our needs however, the blinds should be replaced as they let a lot of light in. The family room furniture could also use an upgrade. The leather couch smelled very old and used and the kitchen table chairs were very uncomfortable. The kitchen could have been a bit better stocked with different cooking items and more plastic cups. A keurig would be a nice improvement since most rental kitchens are now equipped with that, and more usb plugs would have been nice for the variety of electronics rather than just normal plug ins. Ease of check in and check out was lovely, we did not need to communicate with the host so are unable to rate that, and having all the linens and towels was extremely convenient.

Our Stay

third time staying here. Always been good. A few observations...Please remind the cleaning crew to clean out the coffee maker...it was moldy. figuring out the TV is a nightmare and I am very proficient with electronics. Would love to see new blinds in the master...the ones there have holes and let all the light in in the morning (and at night). Lastly the bedspread on the master bed feels like burlap.

Nice condo close to Sugar

Great location close to Sugar Mtn. Condo was very clean and in good condition. Entry to community off 105 is very steep and windy. Property could use some heavier weight blankets/comforter in the main bedroom.

Beautiful views!

Gorgeous views on a large balcony. Comfortable beds. Adequate space for a family of four. Nice games and movie selection. The indoor pool is about a 7 minute drive away, but the outdoor pool is very close (it was closed for the season during our stay in October) The fireplace wasn’t working and in an overnight windstorm the screen door blew off. We didn’t try the fireplace till second night and it was after hours so we didn’t bother calling to have it fixed. Half of the towels had a very strong mildew smell which I’m guessing maybe they were left damp in the dryer for a time. Overall though it was lovely.

We had a great, fast weekend celebrating our App State daughter. We have stayed at Echota on the Ridge when our daughters were younger, and it was really nice to be back. Such a great place to stay!

Needs a Good Cleaning

This condo was okay, it’s definitely showing it’s age and that it’s a rental. Needs a really good deep cleaning and all of the drawers are filled with stuff. There was not a single cabinet to put food in, we had to pile it all on the counter. The pictures make it look bigger than it is, was cramped for a family of 4. We love this complex but would look for a different unit next time.

Perfect ski weekend getaway

Great location close to all three ski resorts, condo is very well maintained, and instructions (including hot water heater, etc.) were clear and easy to follow. Foscoe as a rental company was great for check-in and pickup of keys, reminders about checkout, and even provided a great ski equipment rental option, too (with delivery). Echota on the Ridge is a beautiful community, but make sure you have a four wheel drive vehicle and or chains as its not a drive for those inexperienced in driving in snow&ice; definitely worth the view once you make it up the mountain though!

Wonderful mountain getaway

We enjoyed the townhouse, with all the amenities, but the views were fantastic. Sitting on the deck, with coffee or other beverages, was ideal. Quiet, peaceful and enjoyable. :)

Nice Stay

The condo was very nice and the beds were comfortable. We spent most of our time sitting on the deck enjoying the gorgeous views and swimming in the indoor pool with the kids. We would definitely visit again.

The property is lovely with awesome views. Overall, we enjoyed our stay. There are a few ways that the trip could have been more pleasant. I think the description of the property could be a little clearer. When it says the unit is downstairs it should actually read down stairs so it is obvious that there are two sets of stairs to go down. Also, one reason we chose this location was because of the hot tub and indoor pool. I don’t see where it’s stated that those amenities are not at the location but in a different neighborhood. That was very disappointing. There is a nicely arranged binder containing useful information in the unit. Instead of sending so many emails, it would have been more efficient to scan it and email it with anything else important so all of the pertinent information is in one email. I have stayed in other VRBO locations and it’s typical to load and turn on the dishwasher when you leave. Having to have all of the dishes washed and put away, meant we had to wash and dry dishes by hand while trying to pack up and leave. We arrived later than anticipated, had some questions about the check-in but none of us had cell service on the property.
