Uncle Earl's Haven at Heritage Hill!

Welcome to Uncle Earl's Haven, a traditional log cabin for six nestled in the hills of Valle Crucis, less than half a mile to the Mast Store Annex and the Valle Crucis Community Park.

The main level features a kitchen with standard coffee pot, full appliances, and dining table. The cozy living room has a gas fireplace and a large smart TV. The king bedroom has a ceiling fan. There is a full bath with a combination tub/shower that opens to both the common space and the king bedroom. Upstairs is a single room with a low Queen bed and two twins, perfect for a family. A TV with DVD player is near the twin beds for watching movies, so bring your favourites!

Outside is a private front deck overlooking the fenced in pasture. From the paved parking area, Uncle Earls Haven is accessed by the same walkway as Mam's Refuge next door. They share a patio with fire pit, table and chairs. A waterfall feature is installed along the patio. Have a cup of coffee in the morning on the deck and listen to the water cascading.

Dogs are welcome for an additional fee of $25/night per pet, max of two.
Check In is after 4pm. Check Out is by 10am.
Firewood may be added by reaching out to us more than a week in advance. You'll get two wrapped bundles of kiln dried wood and a firestarter for $20/night.
Linens and Towels provided, but this home does not have a washer or dryer.
AWD/4WD and/or chains recommended during winter months for all of our properties, in case of snow or ice.
Guests returning to Uncle Earl's Haven may receive a 5% discount, not to be stacked with other discounts......

Always Good at Uncle Earl's

We have booked this property more than once. It is clean, convenient to our friends and fun, and we love the goats. It is comfortable, well appointed, and pet friendly, when we decided to bring our pup. Highly recommend it.

Quick get-away

This was definitely the cleanest, warm feeling cabin we have stayed in. It was easy to get to and the paved, not too steep parking areas were nice. The goats were a welcome treat. The only draw back was that there was only one bathroom. It was fine for 2 people, but might be crowded if 6 people were there. We definitely expect to return th Uncle Earl’s Haven!

Making Mountain Memories

This cabin is in a great location. The property is very clean and well maintained. The grandkids loved being able to see the goats and chickens. Would definitely stay here again!

55th anniversary

Celebrated our 55th anniversary at Uncle Earl’s Haven. Was a very comfortable cabin! Enjoyed watching the goats in the pasture! The only problem we encountered was the door code did not work, but was able to get a new one which worked our entire visit! Would stay at this cabin again!

Great house and great location.

Megan and her husband (who took care of the housekeeping/snow shoveling) were so amazing. There is enough room for the dogs to run around without disturbing anyone. The goats are the cutest things EVER!

Family Trip Winter 2021

This was the perfect location near all the places we were visiting on our trip….Beech Mountain, Grandfather Mountain, Hawksnest snow tubing, Linville Caverns and more. The cabin was the perfect size for our family of 4 and pup. Our boys loved that the goats out front came running to see us each time we left or returned to the cabin!

Perfect family getaway

We had a wonderful stay at Uncle Earl’s. The cabin was perfect for our family of 3 and our young daughter thoroughly enjoyed the goats. Our 2 other friends and their families rented the other 2 surrounding cabins and we had a great time hanging out around the fire pits at night. The cabin was clean and well-furnished and the property was beautiful. It is a great location, close to Boone, Blowing rock and Banner Elk. I would highly recommend staying here!

Great place to stay and excellent location. The only downside is the WiFi was terrible with the television going in and out. Also, some of the bedding upstairs had a lot of stains on them which was unfortunate.

Goats of fun.

I live in the Valle Crucis area and rented this cabin for my son and his family to stay. We had lots of company for a wedding and needed extra space. It was remarkable. Cute, clean and just perfect for a family with small children. The goats were a pleasant surprise for the grandkids and listening and watching them from the magnificent porch over morning coffee was a treat. The parking was spacious, flat and plenty of it. There is only one bathroom with a unique sliding door situation being shared with the master bedroom which is not totally private so I do not recommend it for two families but it is great for a couple and up to 4 kids. Beautiful woodwork and furnishings. Most of the necessities for cooking meals were available but they could have used more toilet paper and paper towels. They ran short and could not find any additional in a closet or cabinet and had to run to town for more. Other than that, what a great place. Thank you

Cute Cottage

The entire area of Valle Crucis is so quaint and relaxing and Uncle Earl’s Haven is no exception. It was very clean and had everything we needed to enjoy our stay. All details provided ahead of time were very helpful and timely. Highly recommend!

Lovely Cabin

Very nice cabin just a short ride to Boone. The setting was peaceful, relaxing, and had a great view from the porch. New and very clean, and nicely decorated.
